    3. You are a Lucky Girl, being a horse lover, I would love to have a bottle like that. Samuel D. Riddle master of the Glen Riddle Farms, owned Man O' War. Man O' War was born in August of 1917, at the Belmonts Nursery Stud near Lexington, Ky. His sire was Fair Play, his dam Mahubah. Samuel D. Riddle bought Man O' War at the Saratoga yearling sales for $5000. Starting as a 2 yr. in 1919 he lost only one of his 21 starts to a horse named Upset. He established five world records and won $249,465. becoming the first Thoroughbred to win $200,000. or mor on the track. He was retired after his 3 year old campaign Fitzgerald was his trainer, and Clarence Kummer was his jockey. Man O' War sired the winners of more money than any other American sire, living or dead. His offspring won in the neighborhood of $3,250,000. and five of them each won $100,000. or more. His name is synonymous with racing. "Big Red" completed three careers- on the turf, in the stud, and as an attraction to thousands of horse lovers. Man O' War died in 1947 at 30 years old, your bottle may have been made in 1946. 3. Hi Folks--There is a website for antique bottles. Some bottles are very valuable. My grandfather, James G. Riddle, collected whiskey and wine bottles. I have a small building with the attic full of them. Some are over 150 years old. They made whiskey bottles back then in 1/2 gallon size (those were for the Irish Riddles). Take care.
