Have lots to share from Sam on down. Cousin Sue Larson and myself have quite alot collected on Samuel Riddell. He went by Riddle and Riddell. Settled in Florida, Mo. about 1830ish. Names of Riddell's, Samuel, Richard, William, John Henry, Henry William, Francis Marion, Mary, Elizabeth, Victoria b. 1864(my Ggrandmother daugther of Richard L Riddell) Francis M.(Sue Larson's side brother to my Richard) and too many others to name at this time. They were in and all around the Ralls, Monroe, Marion, Audrain Counties. My Richard was found in 1890 in the Greenlawn area of Ralls Co. We have them in Davis Co. Iowa, and Schuyler Co. Mo also. Laura: John Henry Riddell was born June 16, 1830 in White Sulphur, Scott Co. Ky. He died Oct. 14, 1910 in Downing, Schulyer Co. Mo. He is buried in Richland Cemetery in Scotland Co. Mo. He was the son of Samuel Riddell and Nancy Ann Clarvo Riddell. He was married to Jane Arnett on April 24, 1859 in Scotland Co. Mo. They had 2 children Henry "Frank" Riddell b. 1860 and died as a young lad of 11 years old in 1871 and is also buried with John Henry and Jane Arnett Riddell. They had one other child and she also died very young. She was Madie b. 1873 and she died in 1875 in Downing, MO. She is also buried with her parents. This is a Correction on John Henry Riddell. He died June 6, 1915. Jane died Oct. 14, 1910. Laura: I was just wondering if your John Henry could have been part of the group that migrated to Mo. from KY in and around 1830ish. I find a John Riddell along with my Samuel Riddell in Ralls Co. Mo census in 1840 with several children listed. As you know now names but ages are between etc and etc. We have not connected this John with our Samuel but we feel they had to be related in someway.
