My grandfather John A Riddle was born in Bedford Co. Tn. in 1879. Harmon his father was born in about 1856 in Lynchburg, Lincoln Tn. What information I have I got from Ed Riddle in Texas. Most of my mother family do not know to much about the Riddles. Her sister and brother live in Elizabethton or Johnson City Tn. My mother knew more than her other family and she is now gone. Are your Riddle's descendents of Randolph Riddle? My great grandfather was Benjamin Preston Riddle b. 1829 Jackson Co. AL, his father was Alexander b. 1798 Stokes Co., TN, then it gets fuzzy - in obit of Benjamin it says his father was Alexander and great grandfather was Harmon. Where did your Harmon go after leaving TN? My thinking is Harmon is brother of Alexander and Randolph was his father. Know Benjamin Preston came to Texas and Alexander followed later. Both buried in Texas. I show my Harman as being buried in Jackson Co., AL.
