I have copies of the Leonardo Andrea collection from the archives in Columbia, SC-----there is a page showing John Riddle of Laurens with wife "Mary", but no last name---it shows 10 children but omits William and James-----I feel very confident that Mary's name was Higgins and that she is the daughter of one of the many Higgins families shown in the 1790 census in Laurens---but not the daughter of William as we have tried to connect her to, as the census shows no daughters in the household----my guess would be James, John or Newton---all names of John and Mary's sons----in the absence of a will for any of these Higgins, we may never know the full story------ Jim Riddle
