Jim, I also didn't get your 'epistle' ( even checked my trash bin :>). I have one Elizabeth Riddell (name was originally Riddle/Riddle/Ruddell?). She was born abt 1827 in Estill Co KY, dau of Col. John Hugh Riddell and Elizabeth Mize Riddell. Elizabeth married John Whitehead on 11 Jun 1846 in Estill Co KY. Notes: est co ky marr records, Vol A - 154, signed by Stephen K. Vaught Not noted in father John H. Riddell's will, Will Bk E, Estill Co Ky, dtd 28 Oct 1863, page 97. Isaac Mize book. Says that nothing further is known about her. Est Co Ky marriage permission notes: Certificate of marriage of John Whitehead and Elizabeth Riddell, 9 June 1846, signed George W Maples. John Hugh Riddell is the son of Robert Sr and Mary Hyatt Riddle/Riddell, of Stokes Co NC and Estill Co KY. If this isn't the Elizabeth you're looking for, maybe it will help someone else.
