1. [RIDDLE] William T Riddle Sites
2. Hello Fellow Descendants of William T. Riddle - My name is Jodie and I'm a descendant of William's 5th son, Joseph Riddle b.1777 and twin to Issac. There have been several researchers who have written books on our line. One researcher, Jack Goins, is a descendant of William's daughter, Harriet "Happy" Riddle Fisher. For info on Jack and his book, go to: http://continuitypress.com/goinsndx.html There is an index so you can read which Riddle Names he includes in the book. Seem Also: also " > 7. In the Riddle family of Utah there is a tradition that the family > was of "Portugee" ancestry, which is a common tradition among people of > Melungeon ancestry. See also Jack H. Goins, "Melungeon Families - Sizemore, > Minor, Goins, Fisher and Riddle," Families of Hawkins County, Tennessee > (1786-1994), (Rogersville, Tn. : Hawkins County Genealogical and Historical > Society, 1994), pp. 537-540." http://www.jimcal.com/v04is01.htm#7 Here's 2 sites that I think answer most of our questions. http://www.jimcal.com/v04is01.htm#William - Note: They propose 2 lines of Riddles. One is Stokes Co. NC - which site was originally created for. This is the line that came from Scotland. However, they had so many inquiries from the William T. Riddle Line; that they added info for OUR line of Riddles. So be sure to look for William T. Riddle descendant notes. It is proposed by professional researchers, that Moses Ridley/Riddle is the father of William T. Riddle - Moses and wife Mary are listed as Indian's on the Pittsylvania List of Tithables in 1767 source: http://www.jimcal.com/v04is01.htm#7 http://mkhgenealogy.com/index.html (Select descendants of Cornelius Roberts) http://www.fialcowitz.com/Bunch/other9.html I have others, but didn't want to inundate you.
