I have a John Riddle (b.1802) KY - married a Martha Commack in 1827. I show they had 9 children, William A. 1824, Louise J. 1829, Lawson A. 1831, John S. 1833, Thomas H. 1835, Martha 1837, Catherine 1839, James Z. 1841, and Lorenzo D. 1843. My John Riddle had 2 brothers, a William and a Merritt. They were all living in Own Co. KY in the 1850 census. William A. Riddle married a Mary Jane Bledsoe and they had 8 children. Martha, Joel H, Andrew Franklin, Millie, Grandville G., Edward, Lewis and Lulu. If this ties in with anyone, please e-mail me @ roldfarm@madisontelco.com (I get the digest and sometimes don't look at it right away. I need to reset it.) Steve
Sorry Frances, I don't. My question is, could there possibly be a tie-in somewhere? I've always looked at unusual given names as "possible" clue to lines tying together. Hence, could GREEN Joseph Riddle and Wiley GREEN Boman (son of Elizabeth Jane RIDDLE) somehow be related. Could GREEN be a family name that has been carried over to a given name?
