    3. Hi Russ, I really do not have a clue at this point. I have never found a record that gives the wife's name of Col. James Roberts. I think I once found an Elizabeth Roberts, widow, in the Surry Co., NC area who could have been his wife. However, we still are not sure about the Rogers - Roberts relationship, so we just have to keep looking. 2. Sure wish someone would post those reunions to the Riddle-L@roots web before they are already here or over. I didn't know of the one in Mt. Pleasant until it was over and I live only about 2 1/2 hours from there. Would have loved to go. Didn't know there was another until just now. No one said where it was, just that it was voted to be held. Might have been too far for me. Oh well, maybe next year. Mary skinner

    2. As for Mt. Pleasant being in a state, there is a Mt. Pleasant in Texas. It is down in East Texas I believe. Check with your highway patrolman or your Highway Dept. in your city. Mt Pleasant is located about 150 miles northeast of Dallas on I- 30 going towards Texarkana,Texas. My husband just looked it up for you on the map.\ Which Riddle is having their reunion? Have a safe trip.

    2. I don't know whether you are referring to all the Riddle reunions or not but our Riddle reunion was Sunday. We voted to have it next year in June as that month is so much cooler. If anyone would like to attend please contact me with your name and address we will be happy to send you an invitation. (We have a lot of fun and it is only for one day and we have our main meal catered and bring the desserts. That way we can eat our main meal and they can take the food out and we can munch on dessert if one wants to all day. There is always some left over. wrakj

    3. All this has my thoughts going since my Thomas William Riddle b:1861 is such a mystery...... Thomas William Riddle was still living with Rachel (Lemons) Riddle in the 1880 Marshall Co., AL. census , along with Margaret and Lucinda. Next door was Uriah (Urias?) Riddle age 53. I have found hints that Uriah moved to Texas. Just seems there are too many given names the same here....and the migration is to similar to be coincidence. Thomas Riddle married Rachel Lemons in April of 1860. The 1860 Jackson Co., AL (June) census shows Thomas & Rachel plus Ransom Carmicheal, Margaret b: TN. i believe age 5 and Lucinda b: TN I believe age 2. Will have to look up. This was the last census to show a male head of household. Next found in the 1870 Marshall Co., AL. census... Rachel Riddle living with a Thomas Boggess family... Next door a family by the name of Lamons...no adults listed... Ransom, Margaret, Lucinda and Thomas. Ages were correct. Now I'm wondering if Aunt Cin may have been a half sister to Thomas William and maybe her last name was Lemons????? Fires in AL destroying records have made this very hard. Just ran across notes I made years ago....really bad notes <g> These came from my maternal grandmother.... Aunt Cin married someone by the name of Buck. She didn't know if this was given, surname or nickname. He was killed in a storm and they found his body in the top of a tree.
