To Nate and Robin: Hi saw your message just now and have couple questions. Is the Celia that you are referring to a daughter of Nathan and Mary Pierce? I have her as the 11th child of theirs, if its same one...I have her listed as Sela Alicia "Cely" born 01-03-1861 in Cumberland Co., Ky. The only thing that I have found is that Mary was his 2nd wife and that Nathan was born 05-23-1810 in Cumberland Co., Ky and died ca. 1885 in Cumberland Co., Ky...do not know wher he is buried either. Is this the same person you are referring too? If it is do you have any info on Nathan's first marriage to Lucy Rhoda? Also, found two initials after Nathan which are A.R., do you know what they stand for? I have the children and births of Nathan and Mary but no other info. like who they married...do either of you have that? would appreciate any help with it...thanks Loretta Riddle in Evansville, In. I am still going through my old files I copied from library in Oklahoma City. This one is from the History of the Ancient Rydales, Riddell, Riddler, Ridley by Gideon Tibbett Ridlow. This has some info on the children of Thomas Riddle, mostly about his daughter Margaret Riddle who married Judge John Harrington Torbett. She was his second wife. They had five daughters and one son. Nate, We also have a RIDDLE list at www.myfamily.com that I'm sure Danny RIDDLE will invite you to. It is new to all of us. There we submit photographs for everyone to view. I'm sure everyone would love to see the photograph of your gg grandmother Celia (Riddle) GRAHAM. As far as Happy's maiden name being ROBERTS, I don't believe anyone knows for sure. It's either ROBERTS OR RODGERS. If you have some new source information we'd love for you to share it with us. Also, do you have data on the burial location for Nathan RIDDLE and Mary (Pierce) RIDDLE? I have it if you need it. Nathan and Mary share a joint tombstone but there is no death date for Mary so I doubt she is actually buried there. Do you know any more about her burial location than I do? Let us know where the gaps are in your data and I'm sure we'll be able to help. You'll find a lot of helpful cousins on this list. Best Regards, Robin L. Poindexter
Hi Nate, My husband is a descendant of Nathan A. R. RIDDLE and Mary PIERCE as well. Only through Celia Riddle's brother John M. RIDDLE. I list your ggrandmother as Sela Alicia RIDDLE born 31 January 1861 and married to Buck GRAHAM. Is "Buck" William Graham's nickname? I don't have any other information on them. When were they married? I would love to have the descendants of Celia and William. Are you interested in the descendants of John M. RIDDLE? Looking forward to hearing from you. I think you'll find many (helpful) cousins on this list. Best of luck in your research. Robin L. Poindexter
Hello! This is the first time to try the Riddle rootsweb. I am a decedent of William riddle and Happy Roberts or Rogers? Joseph Riddle and Rhoda Monk, Nathan Riddle and Mary Pierce, William Graham and Celia Riddle. Celia Riddle was my gg grandmother. My grandmother tells me that Celia was half Cherokee Indian. I have pictures of her and she certainly looks the part. Do any of you know if this was through the Riddle line or the Pierce line or both? Also the information I have seems to indicate that Happy's last name was Roberts. I would appreciate any information you could send. Thanks! Nate
Gaylon and Cousins: The Riddle reunion in Mt. Pleasant Texas is the first Sunday in June each year. I hope that we can get alot of the cousins to come for the 2000 reunion at Dellwood Park. Something for us to work toward. Lynn Stephenson

"Images of the Past" is a book published by the local newspaper here in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. We are located in North East Texas on I-30 about 120 miles East of Dallas and around 60 miles West of Texarkana. The Riddles included in the book are the descendants of Isaac (son of William the Tory) and Anna Riddle who came here from Kentucky around 1845. As far as the Riddle reunion here in Mt. Pleasant is concerned, I only know that it is posted in the newspaper each year. I don't know any other specifics such as what branch of the Riddle family it is. Maxine: Thanks. I also am of the William Julius Riddle line. I just this evening checked out his picture site and it is great. I'm trying to get together some pictures for him now to add. I especially liked the picture of Danny and Nicole; now I know who I'm e-mailing. He has certainly added a lot to our Riddle research.
