-- WFCR Radio~Charlie Riddle [email protected] - email (703) 234-3950 x7524 - voicemail/fax www.worldforchristradio.com Hi Marilyn: This is another Charles Riddle from the mountains of western North Carolina. I have a place near Mt Mitchell, highest peak east of the Rockies. There is a book published called "Cabins In The Laurel" about a "Big Tom Wilson" who did a lot of exploration for Elisha Mitchell, a surveryor for which Mt Mitchell was named. Big Tom's picture is shown with a shotgun over his shoulder. My son marrried a Stacy Wilson from southern Ala. A great singer. Her parents are Larry and Charlotte from Mobile. Their email is [email protected] I think Larry is French descent. Also the mention of Cherokee brings back a lot of memories. Take a look at my website and the "Dedication" page. harlie Riddle, Dulles Airport, Va ---- Marilyn Wilson <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Everyone! Hi Cuz, If I don't have my wires crossed it looks like you and my husband are on the same Riddle lineage from William the Tory (the branch is here) - his line is down the Isaac Riddle side that came to Texas. Do not think you have the same Hall line but will email you later on that. But one note on the Hall line his mothers name was Mabel Counts Hall and she was a Riddle descendant. In the mean time look at the new site I am working on (it is still under major construction) http://www.geocities.com/ajh1943/index.html Yes the Cherokee Reservation in Cherokee NC is a awesome place to visit. We were there in fall of 1989. Then made the beautiful trip over the Smokey Mountians. Got work to do so see yawl later.............. Mary, the best two sources for info on William, the Tory are : Mary Hills Book SAGA OF A SOUTHERN LOYALIST , email address : , [email protected] Also Jack Goins book MELUNGEONS by Jack Goins, email [email protected] Both books are $20. Williams son John Thomas is buried in Rhea County, 30 miles east of Cleveland, not 4 miles as stated in the book. I will email tou aphoto of the gravesite and tombstone soon. When I visited Lone Mtn Cementary some years ago, fifty or so of the tombstones had been broken by vandals. I sent a message on the Riddle loop that any decendants kin to this Riddle may wish to restore these stones. I never received any response.
Were still here just not much to say. I don't know about any of the others but the weather here in our area of Texas has been on the bad side all weekend. Storms, lots of rain and flooding. Electric off and the whole 9 yards. I am a Riddle by birth and am also researching my father's family. If you will type in Google on your keyword you just might find what you are looking for. There is a window that says Google search and also I'm feeling lucky. When you type in the name you are researching click Google search and scroll down through all the Riddle names and families. Good Luck. wrakj

Good Morning, Would you have any information concerning a William Baker RIDDLE spouse: Elizabeth BROWN. Son: Harry Pickett RIDDLE b. in Lyon County, Kansas 1890's. I don't have a year of birth for William B. RIDDLE but he was born in Freeport, Stephenson county, Illinois. Even if just hooking me up with other Riddle researchers from this same area would be a great help.
