Get better, Rob't
Richard/Robert, That is great,so just keep on digging. As for myself the flu bug has me again and it is much worse than before. Hope this is the last time as I had my flu shots earlier in the year so it must have been for another strain of it. This is the worst I have ever felt with the flu. Have fun digging and good luck. wrak

Several of you have contacted me asking what the difference is between Mail and Digest Mode. If you are subscribed in Mail mode, every message that is posted will be sent to you as it is posted. If you are subscribed in Digest mode, those same messages are saved until a certain length of time has passed (usually 12 hours) or until the file has reached a certain size. When that happens, you will receive one email with several messages attached to it. This normally happens twice a day unless the list is extremely busy. Hope this helps. Susan

Susan, It's great to hear that the Riddle list now has an owner. I have a notice on my Riddle WEB site that encourages people to subscribe to the Riddle list and was wondering if it would be all right with you if I mentioned your name as the list owner? You can find my web site at http://.jimcal.com. My name is Susan Blackmon and my husband's maternal grandmother was a Riddle. About a month ago, ownership of the Riddle mailing list was transferred to me. Over the past few weeks, I've been watching the posting habits and for any problems. I'm very pleased to see that this is a very active list and that the members get along so well. I have noticed that I receive more than a dozen error messages each day though that all pertain to undeliverable mail. This is generally caused because a subscriber has changed their email address and has not unsubscribed the old one. What I'm going to ask each of you to do is this. Please email me at [email protected] with the email address that should be subscribed and whether you want to be on the LIST or DIGEST mode. The first of April, I will unsubscribe any addresses that have not been verified. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE THROUGH THE LIST. Please respond to me directly at [email protected] Thank you for your help with this and happy researching. Iris, Have you make the connection between John Riddle and Mary Higgins as Silas's Parents??? I was looking into William and Levi as his parents, Johns oldest son. Welcome to the Family. Diane Hatfield
Iris, Oliver Perry was my gg-uncle. b. 9/2/1851 d.1/20/1922 b. in Laurens county, S.C.. Son of Silas and Nancy Childress Riddle. He was my gg-grandfathers brother Mattison Vandiver Riddle. I have the rest of the brother and sisters , but haven't proved who Silas's parents are yet. Diane Hatfield
Good morning everyone, Several of you have emailed me with the question, "What happened to Rebecca?" Honestly, I don't know. If you'll recall, around the end of January Rootsweb began trying to contact her though the list. Her email was bouncing. Anyway, I contacted Rootsweb and offered to take the list over if she no longer wanted it. In mid February they contacted me that I was the new list owner. They didn't offer any explanation as to what happen to Rebecca. I hope that she is doing well and that the only reason she is not listowner any longer is time restraints. In answering my request to verify your email addresses, some of you have made some very helpful suggestions. Please remember, that this is your list and that my main function is to see that it runs smoothly for you. I welcome your comments and suggestions and will try to respond to them in a timely manner. I will be sending my original email asking that you verify your email address several times over the next two weeks. If you have already responded to it, please just delete it. I just need to be sure that anyone who may have subscribed after 3-20-2001 will see it and be able to respond to it. Thanks again, Susan

once when I was wandering lost in riddle land I gathered a bunch of stuff about Randolph. Will dig it back out and post
Send me the addresses Robert and I will also send them. I think the McMinn Co Tn has also done that because the last time we were through there they said they did not have any old records. I had already copied the Riddle family files and wanted to check on the rest of the Reed files. Got most of them but one was not that clear and I wanted to recopy a couple of those. wrakj
