I'am still looking for my Ggmo MARTHA BUTTS. Born Indiana, Perry County. Mar., Ggfa John Wesley Riddle. He died 1888 Caldwell Co., Mo. Buried New York Cem Caldwell Co., Mo. Also looking for there son William Riddle. Cant recall if born Indiana or Missouri. But he is shown on LandAtlas index for property with his parents in Caldwell Co. I was told by a cousin that he went to Texas and never came back. Martha remarried in 1888 according to census and I do have the marriage info. She married a George Lawson who's parents were from Indiana and Tenn. Believe the father was Indiana and mother was from Tenn. Here again, I was told they later on went to Texas. They could have went to Houston. Martha had a daughter or granddaughter who married Ed McLallen and think he was from Caldwell county and worked for the Houston Chronicle Newspaper. So we have Martha and Geo in Texas. William Riddle Lena (Lina) or perhaps Vina (Riddle) McLallen (McClellan) all in Texas that I need to find Lena & Ed are also from Caldwell Co., Missouri. George Lawson Martha (Butts) Lawson Stan Riddle-Brookshier William Riddle Vena or Lina (Riddle) McLallen Ed McLallen (McClelland)
Since no one else seems to know how to copy and paste with a Mac, here are the instructions: First, the Mac does not have a left click or right click. Second, the cursor changes shape when over text or an area which can accept text, becoming a vertical line with a short inward-pointing arrowhead at each end. This is the text selection cursor. Now for the instructions. 1. Position the text selection cursor immediately in front of the first letter of the first word of the text you want to copy. 2. Click and hold down your mouse button while you drag the cursor to the end of the text you are copying. It will be highlighted (color set by the computer operator). 3. Release the mouse button. 4. Simultaneously press and then release the Apple key and the "c" key (The Apple key acts as a second shift key.). 5. Position the text selection cursor where you want to paste the text you just copied. This can be in any document which can accept text. 6. Simultaneously press and then release the Apple key and the "v" key. Your copied text will now appear in its new location.

>These instructions were for IBM compatible machines. Now can you provide >similar instructions for the Macintosh? They are pretty much the same way if I remember correctly...see at #4 where I have it bolded! Sara 1. Position your cursor (arrow) immediately in front of the first letter of the first word of the text you want to copy. 2. LEFT click & HOLD down your mouse button while you drag the cursor to the end of the text you are copying. It should now be highlighted ( blue or black usually). 3. Release the mouse button. ######### The only difference is in here...I can't remember where your copy and paste is, maybe under the Apple??? 4. Click Edit at the top of your active page ( the bar across the top will be in color - i.e.. blue) and click on Copy. 5. Position your cursor (arrow) where you want to paste the text you just copied. ( Example - a new email message) 6. Left click and release 7. Click on Edit at the top of the new page and click Paste. Your copied text should now appear in it's new location.

Beth is a new found cousin of mine and she knows something abt the Lawson family . Which is one of my Riddle links. This marriage certificate was sent to me by another proable cousin. But until we can get Beth to contact us we cant do much in developing the actual link. Gerald we believe this is part of the Nettie Lawson family. Which is the one whom married my kin James William Riddle and also the George Lawson whom married my Ggmo after my my Ggfa John Wesley Riddle died. These Riddles and Lawson's are from one of the following area's of Missouri. Daviess County, Caldwell County and Livingston County. I dont have enough info yet to tell me for certain what county they were from (the Lawsons). These Lawson's could also possiablely link the too Lawson's on my Brookshier side But we dont think it's likely sofar. My Riddle's are Caldwell Co., and Livingston County Missouri. Riddle, had an uncle Lewis at Green Mountain or Burnsville, NC. Uncle Lewis had the reputation of being a great story teller and humorist. My cousin, Carla, is from that area and has a lot of background records. You can email her at [email protected] Around 1908, my grandfather met uncle Lewis coming up the valley, high-tailing it on a horse. Grandfather yelled "Tell Me a big Lie!". Uncle Lewis replied, "I haven't got time, Granny Garland has died and I'm going to Burnsville and get the burial clothes!" My grandfather went and got a lot of neighbors and dug a grave beside the grave of Granny Garland's husband. That evening they all went down to pay their respects--Granny Garland was sitting on the porch----Smiling. > > > ==== RIDDLE Mailing List ==== > Contact the Listowner [email protected] > Whispers from the Past..... > http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~susanb/index.html > > ============================== > Join the RootsWeb WorldConnect Project: > Linking the world, one GEDCOM at a time. > http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com > ===== The "Voice of Thunder and the Sounds of Deliverance" www.worldforchristradio.com To Send WFCR a Message: Dial 1 800-699-2466 and then enter 703 561-8302 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? LEFT click & HOLD down your mouse button while you drag the cursor to the end of the text you are copying. It should now be highlighted ( blue or black usually). 3. Release the mouse button. 4. Click Edit at the top of your active page ( the bar across the top will be in color - i.e.. blue) and click on Copy. 5. Position your cursor (arrow) where you want to paste the text you just copied. No..so far we can only verify that Anna Clarvo's family- Henry Clarvo- is found in Prince George, MD. Where she met Sam is still a question?
Hello Sue and Mike--I had seen a reference to Samuel and Nancy Clarvo Riddle before on the Archives and like you I cannot see a connection to my line of Riddles as yet. Something may turn up! Do you know if Samuel was from Prince George's County,MD? Barbara
Does anyone have a Lewis Riddle who married Caroline Wright during 1842 in Gilmer Co. GA? I am interested if they were from NC and who their parents are. Thanks for any help, Sandy in Southern CA
It's good to have the Riddle List back online. I suffered Riddle withdrawals the last two days. Dream Back the Buffalo, Sing Back the Swans Carolyn Condray-Merritt gggranddaughter of Terry Riddle [email protected]
Barbara, I wish I could find a connection with your Riddle family. We have a Samuel Riddle born around 1790 who married a Anna/Nancy Clarvo around 1820. We know Anna's family came from Maryland- Prince George County- but we don't know the whereabouts of Sam. We connect up with them in Scott County, KY- in White Sulphur- where a number of Maryland families had immigrated. Research into Riddle families in Maryland have proven fruitless in finding Samuel's roots. If you find him in any of your research, we would be greatly appreciative. Sue Larson and Mike Conners

While we're on the subject of virus warnings. Please do not post virus warnings to the list. Even if it did come from someone you believe knows about these things, most times, they are hoaxes. If you really feel that it is legitimate, contact me off the list and I'll check it out. If I do find that it's real, then I will post it to the list.
