    3. Dear Chuck, You mention that you have a database with 16,000 Richardsons in New England. We've been trying to discover the parentage of one William Richardson, born 1781/82 in Canaan, Litchfield County, CT. It appears his father was Thomas, but there are two of them. One deserted the Red Coats during the Revolutionary war, but we cannot find conclusive proof that this is the man. He apparently had a William born to him while in England, but that child died young. We can only assume that he had a second son, also named William, after he arrived here. William's wife was Esther Barnes. We've been able to trace her ancestry back to the early 1600's. The names of this couple's children are Hiram (1808-1818), Gilbert (1809-1879), Polly (1811-1901), Levi (1813-????), Edward (1816-1892, my line), Huldah (1819-????), William C. (1821-1901), John (1825-1827), and Martha (1827-????). I also have a Richardson on my father's side. Julia A. Richardson (no dates) married James A. Templeton (1818-1908). They had one daughter, Christina Templeton (1850-1850). I know nothing more about Julia except she married James in Worcester, Washington County, VT. James fought in both the Mexican-American War and the War Between the States. Any help you can give - or advice - would be most appreciated. -- Harold Templeton Hoffman Estates, IL mrman23@earthlink.net CT: Barnes, Geer, Horsford, Lamb, Merritt, Richardson KY: Shields MA: Lamb, Merritt NH: Lindsay, Morse, Templeton NJ: Beam, Riker NY: Austin, Blakeney, Gardinier, Mayo, Shields, Van Woert VT: Davis, Geer, Johnson, Mayo, Templeton Canada: Bonett, Elsey, Mayo David C.
