    3. I have never found out the parents of Jesse Richardson but the census says his parents were from TN. I would like to find the lost family. 2. Good Morning Listers: Three Richardson brothers of Maury County, TN: John, Thomas & William, Jr.; all sons of William Richardson, Sr. d. Wilkes Co., GA 1806. They lived on Newford Creek. There is a deed record in Wilkes Co., GA where John Richardson, yeoman, sells to his brother Thomas Richardson, a portion of his acreage on Newford Creek. According to researchers of this family, William Richardson, Sr. was the son of Thomas Richardson m. Barbary. When you do the math on the sons of William, Sr., their marriages, etc. it doesn't work for me [see below]. There were resident in Wilkes two persons named William Richardson, both having served in the Georgia Militia. One was referred to as William Sr. and the other as just William. Thomas Richardson m. Barbary migrated to the "Ceded Lands of Georgia" from Newberry Co., SC settling in what became Wilkes County, GA. where he received a grant in the year 1774. In his application for said land grant it is recorded he has two children; one daughter and one son, ages 8 and 9 respectively. According to the math, the children were born in 1766 and 1765 respectively. The LWT of Thomas Richardson, dated 8/1/1777 and proven in Wilkes County 9/15/1777 on oaths of Jacob McClendon and Unknown Collins. In his will he refers to himself as Thomas Richardson "of the Ceded Lands of Georgia." He names as executors, his wife Barbary Richardson and Jacob McClenden. Barbary Richardson, widow of Thomas Richardson of the above LWT, remarried. (Have info on her second husband and his family by his first marriage in one of my yet to be unpacked boxes.) William Richardson, Sr. made his will on 13 Feb 1806; the same was entered into the records of Wilkes Co., GA on 21 January 1808. Therein he leaves all his estate to son William Richardson, Jr. after the decease of his wife (unnamed) and names his sons John Richardson and Thomas Richardson as Executors. At the time the LWT was probated, John Richardson resigned as Executor of said estate. Shortly thereafter, he removed to Maury Co., TN. Where one of his sons had taken up residence. Thomas Richardson followed his brother John to Maury Co., TN. William Richardson, Jr., who married to Keziah, remained in GA for some time after his brothers moved to TN as indicated by the records of Wilkes Co., GA ================= The following data, posted on Genforum, provides further details. According to the marriage dates shown below, John Richardson m. in 1779. The two children referred to in the land grant record would have been 11 & 12 years of age in 1777 and 13 & 14 in 1779. The only way this works for me, and could very well be what occurred, is for William Richardson, Sr. to have followed Thomas Richardson & Barbary to Georgia. Researchers of these families, no doubt, have further documentation on Thomas Richardson m. Barbary from Newberry Co., SC. These families, however, are well recorded in Maury Co., TN. Posted on Genforum - Richardson Board #979: Jane (Willis) Richardson married Thomas Richardson in 1789 at Wilkes County, Georgia. All three of Thomas' sons and three of his son-in-laws served during the War of 1812: Allen Richardson born February 22, 1797, died November 11, 1865, Willis Richardson, Amos Richardson, and son-in-laws Elisha Pullen, Howard Cannon, and Perenas Howard. Syntha (Willis) Richardson & John Richardson were married in 1779 at Wilkes County, Georgia. Fourteen (14) children born of their union: Milam Richardson, William Richardson died 1829, Carroll Richardson born November 22, 1814, died January 26, 1904, Allen Richardson, Willis Richardson, Amos Richardson, Anna (Richardson) Cannon and seven (7) other children whose names and data are not available at this time. John & Sintha (Willis) Richardson owned and farmed 300 acres of Wilkes County, Georgia land which they purchased from Nathaniel Perre on January 21, 1791. The land was located on both banks of Newford Creek in Pope's District of Wilkes County. Their district was named for their neighbor, Captain Wylie Pope. The family of Syntha Willis also lived in the Pope District. In 1812 John & Syntha (Willis) Richardson moved to Fountain Creek in Maury County, Tennessee, where their son Milam Richardson had settled and built a log cabin prior to 1810. The Milam Richardson settlement was named Dugger's Place Settlement. The Dugger Place Settlement was located ten miles south of Columbia, Tennessee. John Richardson died and was buried in September 1840, at Stiversville, Maury County, Tennessee. Syntha (Willis)Richardson died and was buried at Stiversville, Maury County, Tennessee.
