Elaine & Ann, Speaking of long shots--do either of you have any Betsey Richardson in any way associated with your NY John Richardsons? May be simple coincidence, but my Betsey Richardson was the mother of Lydia Joanna Jones who married Benjamin Franklin Fairbanks in Chautauqua in the 1840s. Couldn't help noticing the Fairbanks name that is in the John Richardson lineage shown in the original message. Richardson may NOT have been my Betsey's actual maiden name; there is a possibility that she was married to a Richardson prior to marrying Joseph Jones and giving birth to Lydia Jones in the 1820s; it was a late in life birth for Betsey--she was almost 40. I am looking for any information regarding John and Letitia Morgin Richardson of Grayson and Montgomery Co., VA in the mid-to-late 1700's. Marriage records, John's parents, etc. Any help will be appreciated. Also am interested in similar information of John and Letitia's son Jonathan who married Mary Nestor in August 1789. I would also like a transcript of the will of John Richardson, Jr., who died there in 1797. Emails directly to me will be caught in my spam catcher but I will be able to see them and add the sender to my approved list. Thanks, John Richardson
Sorry, no. I have a few "Fairbanks" people in my data but almost a century too early and in the Sherborn, Mass area...and none associated with Richardson. Moreover, two-thirds of my women are named either Eunice or Mary, with not a Betsey/Elizabeth to be found! Do you have access to the 1835 New York State census to look for Betsey? That State census, combined with the 1830 and 1840 Federal ones, has been helpful to me. Good luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Strong" <strong@ischool.utexas.edu> To: <RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 20, 2005 1:43 PM Subject: Re: [RICHARDSON] Richardson & Webster Cortland, Ny to Monroe,Wi > Elaine & Ann, > > Speaking of long shots--do either of you have any Betsey Richardson in any > way associated with your NY John Richardsons?
