    3. David, Thank you for the hints on Canadian Richardsons and the possible migration from CT--I will be sure to look at those possibilities in the future. Since some of the related families in this line moved thru CT, that may be a real possibility Truth is, I am not even sure that Betsey's maiden name was even Richardson. The little info that I have on her shows her born in July of 1783. The only documented child of her and Joseph Jones was born around 1822, which means she was almost 40. I am seriously considering the possibility that she may have had an earlier marriage (before Jones) and that Richardson may actually be her first (or an earlier) husband's name. However, Richardson seems the logical place to start--so I am actually seeking widows as well as women whose maiden surname was Richardson. As to Wardsboro--I guess I simply assumed that most genealogists working in New England would recognized the spelling conflation, since so many of the NE "borough" towns have been truncated to "boro"--and particularly since the 1980 C. S. Streeter history of Wardsboro uses the contemporary spelling. But whatever.
