Although William was in SC when he married Sophia I do not know if he was b. in SC. He could have been from NC. Sophia is believed to be the dau. of William Lee of SC. William and Sophia Phelps children: Arthur b. 1808, William, James, Elijah, S. Needham, Henry, Caroline, Polly, Elizabeth. William and Sophia moved to Pulaski Co. GA between 1810-14. They remained there the rest of their lives. Arthur is my line. He lived in Pulaski Co. GA until 1858-9 when he sold out his interest in the lumber business and moved to Winn Parish, LA. His older son, William Elijah, was the only child that remained in GA. He was my gg-grandfather. William Elijah died in Mitchell Co. GA. If we connect it would be a blessing!
