This responds to Bob's message last March (!) re Betsey Richardson. wife of Joseph Jones, who is buried in Chautauqua Co, New York. I have traced my GG Grandfather John Richardson back to the 1835 Census in Chautauqua. He eventually settled in Wisconsin, around 1845, but I can't get any leads on him earlier than the 1835 and 1840 Chautauqua references. In later Census records the writing is very very difficult. Sometimes John Richardson's birthplace appears to be "NY" and sometimes "Vt." I have found two other Richardsons in Chautauqua: Seth and Crocker Richardson. Maybe related to my John; maybe not. Anyway, I'm looking for straws here! Have you learned anything more about Betsey? PS. I'm confused about your subject line. Who is/was Jesse? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Strong" <strong@ischool.utexas.edu> To: <RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 12, 2005 7:18 PM Subject: Re: [RICHARDSON] Jesse Richardson > Harold, > > In pursuit of a Betsey Richardson, unknown parentage, from this time > period--late 18th early 19th century--and this locale (she probably > married in > VT).
