Richardsons of New Kent Early 1700's With some exceptions, the major records of New Kent County prior to 1865 have been destroyed. A sometimes overlooked record of the early 1700's is the transcription of the parish records of that period. I am very sure that my Richardson ancestor, Elijah Richardson Sr. (ca. 1761 - 1854) of Henry County, Virginia links back to New Kent County, but I have never found the conclusive proof I seek. I have transcribed the Richardson entries in C. G. Chamberlayne's book in hopes they may be of interest to other genealogists searching for their Richardson ancestors.
