I think that without having more information, you have a hard task ahead of you. We went to Scotland two years ago and visited a lot of the old home places - but we knew that our Richardsons were from Midlothian and Kircudbright and we had some farm names. There are a lot of Richardsons from Midlothian and from the Dumfries & Galloway area - and there are a lot of Richard Richardsons from that area. But there are also Richardson scattered all over the country. I wish you the very best of luck. And, no matter what, you are on your way to one lovely country. Jack Butler-- How did you find where in Scotland your Richardsons came from? My Richardsons, too, came from Scotland. All we have is a family story that three brothers left Leith, Scotland, one was lost on the trip, my great grandfather, John Richardson (some have Johnnie W. Richardson) settled in New Canton, Hawkins County Tennessee in 1798, and we have never found who the third brother was. Any information/suggestions would be very much appreciated.
