John Wilkes Richardson For either Gary or David (or both!): Do either of you have any record for a Betsey Richardson, born 14 July 1783, probably in either MA or VT. Married Joseph Jones, son of Rev. Soldier John Jones of Wardsboro, VT. Joseph Jones and Betsey Richardson settled in Chautuaqua County, NY before 1823. She is buried there; not sure what happened to Joseph Jones. Only known child of Joseph and Betsey was Lydia Joanna Jones, who was apparently born late in Betsey's life when she was around 39. Any help appreciated. Bob Strong Robert W. Several Betsey's in the line, none of whom seem to be your Betsey Richardson Jones. There are two Rootsweb files with Betsey and Joseph, one by Dave Ross (Titled "Dave's Database") and another by Keasha LeClear (Titled "Katie"). These focus on the Jones family, however. Dave's follows the Jones family well back into England, and mention that John Jones died in Chautauqua, NY, which matches your info. Keasha has a child named Simon Jones, b. 1814, and follows that line for many generations, but I'm wondering if the connection with Betsey and Joseph Jones is correct. Wish I could be more helpful with the Richardson line. However, there are numerous lines in MA, not all of which are related, as I seem to discover on almost a daily basis.... Gary Allen Richardson
