I've "rescued" an old photograph of Carrie Augusta RICHARDSON which was taken in 1892 at the G.H. Emery Studio in Rutland, Vermont. Carrie appears to be in her late teens or 20's at the time the photograph was taken. In addition to her name someone has written "Fac totum bene" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I do find a Carrie A. RICHARDSON age 6 years living with the BAILEY Family in Rutland, VT during the 1880 census. Her relationship to the family is not indicated so I'm not sure why she was living in the household. Carrie is listed as born in MA to parents born in MA and VT respectively. The head of household was Thomas R. BAILEY age 62, born in VT to NH born parents, and his wife, Sophia E. BAILEY age 59, born in NH to NH born parents. Also living with the couple were two sons, Henry M. BAILEY age 31, born in VT and Fred R. BAILEY age 23, also born in VT. A housekeeper, Mary WATERS age 30, born in Ireland also lived with the family. I'm wondering if Carrie might have been a granddaughter to the BAILEY's, noting that Carrie's Mother was born in VT as were the other BAILEY children. Carrie's Mother could have been a daughter to Thomas & Sophia BAILEY, I'm just not sure since no relationship is indicated in the census for this child. I'm hoping to locate someone from Carrie's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
