Sue, My great great grandfather was Seth Richardson of St. Lawrence Co., NY. His wife was Clarissa Farwell. They had several children, one of whom was my great grandfather, Seth Farwell Richardson. Seth F. was born in Canton, St. Lawrence Co., NY, in 1836. Seth F. grew up around Canton and Stockholm, NY. He was in the 50th NY Volunteer Engineers during the Civil War. He married Orpha Blanchard in Potsdam in 1865 after returning from the Civil War. Orpha and Seth F. then moved to Wisconsin where my grandmother, Ella A. Richardson, was born in 1872. Several other children were born in Wisconsin before the entire family moved to Anoka Co., Minnesota, where Ella married my grandfather Thomas G. Wilde. Since Canton, Stockholm, Brasher (Falls) and Potsdam are all near each other, I figure we must have a connection somewhere. I think that my g,g,grandfather was born in Vermont but I don't have any proof of that yet. I have not yet begun my research into the Farwell family. Besides my g,grandfather Seth F., Seth and Clarissa also had at least one other son, Julius Richardson, who married and settled in Marquette, Michigan. I have had contact with another Richardson researcher in Minnesota and her Richardson family is (we're certain) connected to my g,g,grandfather somehow. I'm thinking that you're Richardson family of Vermont may be connected to my Seth Richardson. By the way, Seth F. and Orpha had several children, in addition to my grandmother Ella, who's names were: Frank Elmer, Cora M., Ernest Farwell, Hiram M., and Anna B. Admittedly these given names are quite common but the similarity to some of the given names in your Richardson family is interesting. Check this guy out I have bunches on this line if any of it looks familiar let me know. 2746d Levi Richardson Levi Richardson 7 (Eldad, 6 Eri, 5 Amos, 4 Stephen, 3 Stephen, 2 Samuel 1), son of Eldad and Hopestill (Brown) Richardson was born in Erieville on June 6, 1803. He married Thirza Medbury, daughter of Thomas Medbury and Sabra Brown, on September 14, 1826 in Erieville. Thomas Medbury was a farmer, gunsmith and hotelier who migrated from Rehoboth, MA to New Berlin, NY in 1794. Sabra, daughter of Thomas Brown and his second wife, Hannah Jones, came to NY from Attleboro, MA and was from a different line of the same extended Brown family of Rehoboth, MA as was Hopey Brown, Levi Richardson's mother. Sabra Brown's lineage can be traced back five generations to John Brown and Dorothy Beauchamp who arrived in Boston on the "Lyon" in 1632. Their son, James Brown, married Lydia Howland, daughter of John Howland and Elizabeth Tilly, both of whom arrived in Massachusettes on the "Mayflower" in 1620. Levi Richardson was a prosperous farmer and a Captain in the New York State militia. He died October 28, 1876 and Thirza Medbury Richardson died September 25, 1882. Children: 2746d1.
