Franklin is west of Boston, going towards Worcester. It was incorporated in 1778, used to be part of Wrentham, Medfield, Medway and Norfolk, I think. It's on route 495, about 10-15 miles west of interstate 95. Can't think of much there now, that you might now. A few colleges, and new industry and housing has replaced much of the old farmland. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jerry & Carolyn Ott<mailto:jc.ott@verizon.net> To: RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 2:49 PM Subject: Re: [RICHARDSON] Re: RICHARDSON-D Digest V05 #11 Thanks for the info. Someone else had the same problem, and told me that they had to manually enter the link, or add the second > symbol. In any case, when I post the link to Rootsweb, they add the latter half of the URL, between the < > symbols. In doing so, it causes the error message you received. If you manually enter just the first part, it should work. Or try a search for First Families, and see if you find it that way. It's really there! And I'm curious about their claims that some type of Richardson genealogy is fraudulent. Nancy.... I have not run across a Lucretia........however I have extremely limited information on my Richardsons. All I know is that Adoniram Richardson born about 1805 in Ma......grew up around Boston.....moved to N.H..................married & had a son George in N.H........................migrated to Indiana and then to Illinois. I am having a hard time of finding info. on this family. honey,i,am not curios i,am past that point now i get mad with them, but even though my gggrandfather married annie richardson in henry co,and the note on the marriage record said they thought she came out of dale co,and she had father nor mother and that the judge knew what to do with that.i beleive she is the daughter of decatur and emily richardson they were in decatur co,ga in 1870 they just happen to have a daughter annie l,richardson that fits her age,i can,t find decatur or emily after that. idella
Greeting All Responding to Idella's query: Yes, Idella, my Mother is a Richardson. However, as far as I know, we're not related to Randal Richardson or his wife Sarah. I've traced just about every Richardson family found in Georgia in the late 1700s and early 1800s. I found traces of Randal Richardson in Georgia and then in Alabama census records by 1830 or 1840. Off the top of my head, can't recall which. I do recall there were two sons, one named William and one named Christopher. You might also check Henry County, AL as well. Seems to me they were enumerated first in Henry County and then later in Dale County, the latter having been cut from Henry. There were also some daughters. I'm most curious about this line. My line has been in Alabama since 1807. Happy Hunting :>) DeLores

Greetings All :>) Hi Idella....responding to your question re Richardson folk in Dale Co., AL Do you know what time frame your Richardson/Richerson folk migrated to Dale County, AL? Don't know if the following will help, but, you might want to check it out. Randall Richardson and his wife migrated fairly early to Dale County, AL from Georgia. Randall died prior to 1850. His wife is there enumerated in 1850 with the children. Check Dale County 1830 and 1840 Census enumeration for Randal Richardson. They are only Richardson families there at that time. I have a cemetery listing for several of their children somewhere in my notes. You might want to check Dale County, AL Cemetery Listings at Rootsweb. Happy Hunting, DeLores

There have been a few family members who traveled to IL, IN, OH, etc, but not well documented, in my case. Quite a few more in the NH area. One note: Richardson's brought the Cordwainer trade with them from England, and the house that my grandfather was born in (Franklin, MA) has the remains of a shoe making shop still in the basement. I'm told that a Cordwainer is a shoe craftsman, not to be confused with a Cobbler, or repairman. There are Societies of Cordwainer's to this day. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jerry & Carolyn Ott<mailto:jc.ott@verizon.net> To: RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 27, 2005 10:54 PM Subject: Re: [RICHARDSON] Re: RICHARDSON-D Digest V05 #11 I do not know if Adoniram had any connections to the Firearms company or not. Hello: My paternal grandfather, Benjamin Washington Richardson moved from near Alexander City, Tallapoosa Co., AL to TX in 1907 or 1908. Benjamin's brother, Samuel remained in AL. Another one, in the Civil war was Joseph, who moved to FL for health purposes. They are sons of Robert S. Richardson, who was born in GA in 1820, so not sure when they arrived in AL from GA. Hope this helps you a bit. Fondly, Bobbie P.S. Benjamin settled in Matagorda County, TX, near Bay City, TX His wife was Hixie Adella MEADOWS, of Tallepoosa Co., AL.
