    1. RE: [RICHARDSON] Nancy and Jesse Richardson
    2. Hi Sally.... Nice to hear from you. Goodness we sure could use someone from you line in the Richardson DNA study. We're really getting going now and have two samples from the Bedford/Grayson County, VA area. This was one of our matches where the subject participants did not know each other and our Study put them together. Do you have any male Richardson folk who might consider joining the project? You can get a look at the results here: http://rich2dna.invest4prosperity.com/results.html Warmest regards, DeLores Genealogy & Genetics: Prove & Connect Your Ancestry with DNA

    1. Nancy and Jesse Richardson
    2. Martha and DeLores - I was thrilled to see the information on Nancy Richardson. Jesse is a common name repeated in my Richardson family - in fact, both my father and grandfather were named Jesse. Here's my line: Jesse Owen Richardson (my father) Jesse Emmett Richardson (my grandfather) m. Bertha Frances Brown James W. Richardson m. Addie Sanborn Burrell B. Richardson m. Nancy Jane Riley William Richardson m. Mary "Polly" ? From this point on, I'm not certain of the line but I believe it to be: David Richardson and Elizabeth Smith Jesse Richardson and Martha English Jonathan Richardson (b. 1773) and Anne Massey If you can confirm the latter information or if you see anything that connects or will help me sort out all the Jesses, Jonathans, etc., I would be very happy to share information. I can provide further information if that will help, including the dates, locations and children of the above. Sally (Richardson) Goehring Albuquerque, NM

    1. RE: [RICHARDSON] Madison Richardson
    2. Hi Martha: Nancy Richardson m. Jacob Anderson is the daughter of Jesse Richardson. Jesse Richardson is the son of Jonathan Richardson who departed this life in 1773. The LWT Of Jonathan Richardson is index in the Probate records of Bedford County, VA under date 24 May 1773. This Jonathan Richardson, who was resident in Maryland for some little time, was twice married; first about 1745 to Elizabeth Taylor, daughter of Henry Taylor and Sarah; and, secondly to Anne, on 2 October, 1759 in St. Johns, Maryland. He had by his first wife, Elizabeth Taylor, a son, Joseph Richardson b. ~1745 Loudon County, VA - d. 1817 Rockingham, NC married Sarah Compton in the year 1769 in Loudon Co., VA. By his wife Anne, Jonathan Richardson had the following children: Mary, Nancy, Aimy, Jesse, Thomas and Amos. The latter being Amos Richardson who married in South Carolina Susannah Smith and then settled in Elbert County, GA where he raised his family. Amos Richardson was a RWS. He left home at an early age and twice enlisted in the Revolutionary armies. Amos states in his RWS pension application that he was born in Loudon County, VA 18 September, 1764. He died 15 January, 1847 at his home in Elberton, Elbert County, GA. I seem to recall that the Hart Co., GA DAR erected a memorial in his memory at the cemetery where he is buried, which today, lies in Hart County, GA. Jesse was born ~1760 and departed this life in McCrackin, KY on 26 October 1839. Jonathan Richardson removed with his family from Maryland to Loudon County, VA. After some years there he removed to Bedford County, He signed a petition in either Bedford or Henry Co. VA in favor of the formation of a new county in Virginia to be called Franklin. Many researchers confuse the family of this Jonathan Richardson with another, namely Jonathan Richardson, a Quaker, who married 2 October, 1706 Catherine Conway, at All Hallows Church in Anne Arundel County, MD where their son John was christened. Jonathan Richardson and Catherine Conway moved from Maryland to Prince William Co., VA about 1730/1. Jonathan Richardson m. Catherine Conway departed this life in Fairfax Co., VA in the year 1745. In his LWT, Jonathan Richardson of Fairfax names his living children: John, Thomas, Mary (md. Mr. Gaskin), David and Amos Richardson, not to be confused with the aforementioned Amos Richardson b. 1764 Loudon Co., VA. In 1749, the sons, Amos, David, Aaron, Abraham and Thomas, sold land in Fairfax and moved to Bedford Co., VA. At one time, there was resident in Bedford Co., VA three men named Amos Richardson. And it is almost impossible to keep for mixing up the two Jonathan 's who were resident in Bedford. Hope this bit of information helps. Happy Hunting, DeLores

    2. David Jager
    3. This looks like some of my line. I could never get any later than Madison. My Great-Grandfather is James Madison Richardson. Madison was a colorful fellow. Spent a lot of time in circuit court over land and marital issues. David A. Jager Optimization Technology, Inc. 1. Richard Richardson
    2. Richard Tennesen
    3. I've been looking for information on my ggf Richard Richardson, born about 1844 in Canada, and who married Charlotte Gedge in 1869 in Pendleton, KY -- I've gotten some much-appreciated information on the Gedge side; however, nothing on Richardson's... my namesake. I have a clue that Richard's parents were born in Scotland. Anybody with information, please contact me! Thanks, Richard Tennesen, Capitola, CA

    2. Dave & Jan Spitzmueller
    3. This was my experience with First Families.Org. I got the email right after the closing date (like this posting) and they were nice enough to extend the time for a month. Hurrying to get my info ready, I almost missed the very small Ancestry.com logo at the bottom of the paper work. You must give Ancestry all your documented information and pay $20.00 for the certificate. Notice that many of the links lead to Ancestry.com.
