    3. I have Richardsons from Pulaski Co. Kentucky. I continue to get very confused in trying to put them all together. Seems there were several with same names. I think they were probably related somehow. My ancestor was Mary (Polly) Richardson. She was born in Pulaski County in 1803. Her parents were William Richardson and Jane Bobbitt Laws Richardson. She had several brothers and sisters and a sister named Nancy. Her sister, however, was married to a Mr. Rusk, according to my records. Most of this particular family eventually made their way to Indiana. However, I beleive Nancy and two of her older siblings stayed in Pulaski Co. William and Jane Richardson were originally from Grayson County Virginia (now Carroll Co.) and came to Pulaski in about 1800. He died and is buried there, Jane moved on to Indiana. Does any of this sound familiar to you? 1. Georgia Richardson's

    3. Hello Richardson researchers I'm still looking for my lost Richardson's out of N.C. into GA. around the turn of the 1790-1800's I'd like to find my Richardson family, I've been looking for so very long. MY g-g- grand father Samuel K. Richardson was born in GA (unk. county) in 1806 from AR. census it says his parents were born in N.C. (they are unknown to me) Sam married twice 1st to Jane Hassler in Roane CO. TN in feb. 19,1829. Jane died ca. 1845-48 leaving Sam with five children. 1. Evaline Richardson b. 1834 Roane CO. TN. 2. Amanda Richardson b. 1836 Roane, TN. 3. Leroy Richardson b. 1843 Roane , Tn 4, Columbian Richardson b. ca. 1845/6, TN. There may have been and older son born around 1830-32 there is no other info on him. Sam married the second time ca. 1848-49 to Elizabeth Jane Harvey, they appear on the 1850 Gordon Co. Census with their first child and the four children from Sam's previous marriage. By 1860 census they are in Carroll County AR. with their children but the Children from Sam's first marriage are not in the home. but by this time most were of the age to be married. I'd be most interested if someone had one of these Richardson Women in their family line The youngest Columbean, was raised by her Grandparents "Hassler" in Roane CO. TN. Any clue as to who these Richardson belong to would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for any help Margrett "Richardson" McCorkle Margrett McCorkle State Coordinator Washington GenExchange http://www.genexchange.org/state.php?state-wa County Coordinator Carroll County, Arkansas http://www.genexchange.org/county.php?state=ar&county=carroll

    1. Franklin, MA Richardson's and a Dewayne Richardson update
    2. Gary Richardson
    3. Just a quick note about Dewayne Richardson. A member of this list is a relative, and it looks like we'll be able to match up Dewayne's kids with the proverbial long lost cousin. Thanks for playing, winners have been notified.... (That's an attempt at humor, but it's Richardson related, so I hope I won't offend anyone) Meanwhile, I have been invited by a Social Studies teacher at Franklin (Norfolk county) Massachusetts High school to speak with a class that is researching Franklin folks who were in the Civil War. Each student is assigned one person, and the results are published on a town website. One of the students wrote about Charles Richardson Adams, who died in a battle in VA. He was only able to determine that Charles had a father named Peter, and of course, that he had given up his life in the war. Turns out Peter married Clarissa Day Richardson, inherited one of the Richardson Homesteads, and the Adams family eventually sold that homestead to it's present owners, the Locke family. The house is still standing, albeit in somewhat modified condition, and the owners are well aware of the Adams and Richardson connection. I wrote to the teacher, a John Leighton, and told him that I could provide much more info about Charles Richardson Adams, including his ancestry back to the mid 1600's, as well as for other family members who fought in the Civil War. Perhaps the most famous Franklin Richardson was Albert Deane Richardson, who did not fight in the war, but spent a good deal of time "spying" on the South, for a newspaper that would publish his stories and letters, prior to the war breaking out. In the process, Albert was captured, and after months in a southern prison, managed to escape. There's more to the story, including Albert's eventual death at the hands of an ex-husband named McFarland, but I'll save that for the classroom. If any of you have memorabilia, stories, suggestions, etc. regarding Civil War Richardson's (or other families) who lived in Franklin, I'll be happy to share them with the class. My appt is set for May 24th, so don't delay! By the way, the town of Franklin (est 1778) is in Norfolk County, near Wrentham, Medway, Norfolk, to name a few. There is a MA County called Franklin County, which is further to the west, and includes all different towns. Franklin named itself after Ben Franklin, and I'm not sure if the County did likewise. Often leads to some confusion, as many people list Counties rather than towns, if they're not certain of the exact town. Even links to existing sites that would illustrate the topic are fine. I will prepare a handout with as much info as possible. It sounds like we may be able to make the job of researching "old dead people" a little more productive for that class, and classes to come. I'll be leaving them with a copy of "Lost Love", which details the entire life of Albert Deane Richardson. He's buried in a local cemetery (with a huge monument erected in his honor after his murder) and Albert lived in the same Homestead as Charles R Adams, so the students can even see both the house and the final resting place, right in their own hometown. Any ideas will be welcomed! Gary Allen Richardson

    1. Looking for Dewayne L. Richardson family
    2. Gary Richardson
    3. I received an email from a relative of a Richardson family that included a Gary Richardson, and she wondered if that might have been me. I offered to help her spread the word a bit, by posting her query on the Richardson list. The inquirer is the niece of Dewayne L. Richardson's wife, Margaret L. Holtz. Here's what she knows: Margaret L. Holtz married Dewayne L. Richardson on 10 Jul 1952 in Lake Zurich, Ill. Margaret was born in Wood Co., West Virginia, 20 August 1923, the daughter of Homer and Gertrude (Sams) Holtz. Both parents died when Margaret was young, so she was raised by Inez Holtz, Homer's sister. Dewayne was the son of Roy Richardson of Chicago, IL, according to the engagement announcement. No further information is available on his family. The Richardson's had 3 children, Mike, ca 1954; Patty, ca. 1957 and Gary, ca 1960. Mike graduated from HS in 1971. The family moved to Honduras to accept a job with the United Fruit Company. Margaret didn't like Honduras, and moved back to New Orleans, LA. She taught at a private school there, and died in 1989. The kids were at the funeral, but that's the last that her niece has heard from them. If any of this rings a bell, please email me directly at gar3131@msn.com<mailto:gar3131@msn.com> The niece's name is Tina Holtz, and she now lives in upstate New York State. Gary Allen Richardson (No relation!)

Census for 1860 Richmond shows a son George but not with last name Turner in the David and Sarah Richardson family, along with a daughter Melissa.
