Surnames: RICHARDSON..........TAYLOR.........ROCKWOOD......... and HICKSON (HIXON) Does anyone have any information on SCEVA and ESTHER (HICKSON) RICHARDSON? They were natives of Massachusetts. Their son A.J. RICHARDSON was born 1805 & about 1812 they moved to New Hampshire until about 1831. A.J. married MORIAH TAYLOR of New Hampshire 1825 and they moved west to Eugene, Indiana in 1831, taking his parents with them. SCEVA died 5/11/1841, at Eugene and ESTHER died 2/22/1848. Spring of 1848 A.J. and his family moved to Vermilion Co. Illinois. I believe that SCEVA was the son of TIMOTHY and MEHETABEL(ROCKWOOD) RICHARDSON. I think he was born 5/20/1767 Wrentham, Worcester, Ma....Christening was 7/15/1767 Franklin, Ma. Esther Hickson (Hixon) born 4/29/1766 Wrentham, Ma......Christening was 7/5/1778 Wrentham, Ma. The birth and christening of SCEVA and ESTHER I found on Family Search sp I am trying to verify what I can of it.

I apologize, but I think I accidentally demolished an email message from a Richardson mail list contact. I hope the person who sent it will send it again so I may read it. It had "Herkimer" and "MA" in the subject line, I believe. Sorry! Lorna K.W.

This responds to Bob's message last March (!) re Betsey Richardson. wife of Joseph Jones, who is buried in Chautauqua Co, New York. I have traced my GG Grandfather John Richardson back to the 1835 Census in Chautauqua. He eventually settled in Wisconsin, around 1845, but I can't get any leads on him earlier than the 1835 and 1840 Chautauqua references. In later Census records the writing is very very difficult. Sometimes John Richardson's birthplace appears to be "NY" and sometimes "Vt." I have found two other Richardsons in Chautauqua: Seth and Crocker Richardson. Maybe related to my John; maybe not. Anyway, I'm looking for straws here! Have you learned anything more about Betsey? PS. I'm confused about your subject line. I will be out of the office starting Tue 07/26/2005 and will not return until Tue 08/02/2005. I will respond to your message when I return.
I am looking for the William RICHARDSON family who lived in Belleville, Ontario, Canada and then came to Chicago about 1871. They lived in Chicago, Oak Park and Downers Grove, IL. I know nothing of Wm's family. No idea of parents. His death certificate didn't include his parents' names but did say he was born in Quebec. William RICHARDSON (1835-1921) married Mary BOGART (1841-1910). Their children (most born in Canada): William jr, Harry Bogart (my g g'father), Grace, Minnie, Frederick, and Thyra. Grace never married, Minnie died as a child. Thyra married and died young. William jr and Frederick are mysteries. I did find that Frederick was living in Indiana in 1921 (but can't find him in 1920 census!) since he gave the vague information about his father on the death certificate. I have no idea what happened to Fredrick after or before that and no idea what happened to son William jr. The only mention I have of him is when he is living with his parents in Chicago in the 1880 census (age 18) working as an architect. I haven't been able to get back any further than Wm RICHARDSON in this family line. I have a photograph that might be a clue. It is labeled: "Robert Richardson (father Thomas). Another clue (or missinformation). In the 1880 and 1910 censuses William says he was born in Canada and his parents in Ireland In the 1900 census, William says he and his father were born in Canada and his mother in England The family legend is that the family came from Belfast. My BOGART and RICHARDSON relatives are my most elusive! They gave census takers different information as to years of birth, etc. I'm taking their year's of birth and death from their death certificates. Thank you, Erica Voolich

He is making some upgrades to list handling and is trying to ensure compatibility with all e-mail applications. Then, am also running MS Office which provides 2 email applications; I choose to use MS Outlook. Hope this helps... DeLores P.S.
