    3. Hi, You ommitted your name! so can't use it to say hello. Yes the age does fit; you have the details of his arrival. The problem of course is making a connection. It is the same for me. Only the fact that he vanished from this countries records after 1871, and is not listed as having died (death records were in full swing then and mandatory), and did not appear on the 1881; makes me *think* that the THOMAS listed is the one. I would like more proof, as you would no doubt. I will put together the details of THOMAS RICHARDSON in this country along with any official record copies, and send it in a later email attachment. Is that OK? 2. John, This reply is also a long shot as I have been trying to trace my g-grandfather Thomas Richardson with no luck for quite some time. My Thomas Richardson appears in the Schuylkill County PA census of 1890 with his age listed as 31 so his age works with your person. Allegorical records indicate that he arrived in the early 1880s. He worked on the railroad in several locations as a trainman and as a conductor until his death in 1931. He was married to Susanna Griffith His children's names were Kathryn, Myles, Mary, Ethel, Gwendolyn, Myra, and Marcella. I mention these in case any were named after earlier relatives. If you think there is a chance of a connection I would certainly be interested in any more information you might have.

    3. Morgan Richardson is believed to the son of Morgan Richardson (Bedford/Campbell Co, VA) m. Penelope Eidson in either Campbell or Bedford County, VA (need to refresh my memory with the record which is packed up at the moment). Morgan Richardson, a RWS of VA, and his sister Sally who also married an Eison (brother of Penelope), both children of Boice Eidson, migrated to Georgia. They lived in that portion of Wilkes that became Oglethorpe. There was also resident there one Agnes Richardson and one William Richardson who preceded John Richardson m. Elizabeth Tait (can prove this John Richardson m. Eliabeth Tait/Tate is NOT the son of Daniel Richardson & Prudence Latherlin). John Richardson m. Rosanna D., lived in that portion of Richmond County that became Columbia, was son of Daniel Richardson and Prudence Latherlin. This is easily proved with deed records. John Richardson and his brother Enoch lived on adjoining parcels of land. Bert, I have some more info on Morgan Richardson and his second wife, etc. Will dig it out for you this week. 3. Wow thanks! The second abstract includes the phrase "Drawn by John Richardson, Oglethorpe Co", I had thought that might mean the John Richardson was a fortunate drawer in one of the land lotteries but I would guess it simply means he was the previous owner? Also can you tell us what the "FI Fa" abbreviation means? Also notice John Vineard is in Oglethorpe Co when he makes the purchase and in Coweta when he makes the sale. We know the Richardson are in Olgethorpe in 1827 and Coweta in 1834. Since Coweta is a fair distance from Oglethorpe I wouldn't be suprised to someday find out that John Vineard is related to the Richardsons. Bert ----- Original Message ----- From: AmyWM@aol.com To: bert@pittmanfamily.org ; RICHARDSON-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Friday, September 23, 2005 11:40 AM Subject: Re: [RICHARDSON] Help with deed abstracts Good Morning, I would like to see the actual document(s) below and to see the preceding documents that led up to it, but this appears to be a foreclosure on a mortgage. Salsbury, on some prior date, sold the property to Morgan and John Richardson. Salsbury agreed to finance the purchase price. (We call it "Seller Financing" today) For whatever reason, Salsbury had to foreclose on the mortgage. In some states, the Sheriff actually stands at a predetermined place on the courthouse steps and publicly auctions off the property to the highest bidder. Your first document, Deed Book D, page 7-8 is the result of the foreclosure and public auction where John Vineard was the highest bidder. Vineard becomes the owner of the property through a Sheriff's deed rather than a General Warranty Deed because of the foreclosure. A Sheriff's deed almost always indicates a foreclosure of a mortgage, regardless of who was the note holder. Same "kind" of thing with a Treasurer's Deed. A Treasurer's deed would indicate the owner fell behind on taxes and the County Treasurer granted a deed to a new owner for the back taxes. Your second deed shown below, indicates John Vineard kept the property for approximately 10 yeas (if the dates are correct) then sold it to Nathanial Brown. The mention of Salsbury and Richardson in that deed gives the history of how Vineard acquired the property. Sheriff's deeds have no warranties or guarantees in the chain of title or "abstract of title" as it is still called today. Even today, supporting language is sometimes written in documents to give the courthouse a method of identification on a legal description or piece of property. Don't hesitate to ask more questions - this can be really confusing unless you work with it every day. I was a title abstractor and examiner with a title insurance company for a long, long time. It pleases me to actually be able to make a contribution to this wonderful list. Even better? I think Morgan and John Richardson are part of my Richardson line from Oglethorpe County. We may be distantly related cousins somewhere along this line. Buried in Bloomfield Cemetery with wife Margaret (1848-1902)(possibly born in Illinois), and son Robert (1873-1933). Plots R14-16,17,18. Daughter Della Richardson born 1872-19590 is buried with the Wilson family in R13-19 in the same cemetery. She married Joe Ivey Wilson April 20, 1888. She had 5 sons. ?, Robert Irving, Albert, Harold, and Lane. She was the eldest child of W.I. and Margaret. Probably born in Boonesboro, Washington County, Arkansas. Younger siblings included brother Robert, sister Mary born ca. 1875, brothers Thomas ca. 1877 and William ca.1878. They were probably all born in Boonesboro. Family is on the 1870 and 1880 census in this town/county. On the 1900 census, the family had relocated to Round Praire/Bloomfield. W.I. Richardson was a retail merchant there and age 68. 2. Sue Koller
    3. Hi All, Sylvester A. Richardson was b. March 16, 1830 in West Camp, New York. His family moved to Sheboygan Falls Wis. in 1851. I am looking for any information on Sylvester's wife. Elizabeth Bowers married Sylvester A. Richardson in Sheboygan Falls Wisconsin in 1858, they moved with a group to CO. in 1860. She was eventually called the "Pretty Woman" and lived on the Pretty Woman Ranch in Douglas County Colorado - Sedalia area. Elizabeth and Sylvester were divorced in 1868 and she returned to Wisconsin in 1874 and married Edwin N. Palmer. Elizabeth eventually moved back to Colorado to be with a son from her first marriage. I'm with a group who is doing a Land marking of the property in Colorado and since the name of the Ranch is "Pretty Woman" we would all like to know more about her and find a photo if possible. What did the Pretty Woman look like? If there is no photo any further information would be wonderful. Any help in this quest will be greatly appreciated. Sue K.
