    3. Hello all, I am looking for any information on the children of Louis and Mary Stewart Richardson living in Harrison County, KY. Louis is 34 years old in the 1880 census and the family is living in the Richland District, Currys Run, Kentucky. The children were: Tabitha, Enoch, Andrew, William, Charles and Festus. Mary Stewart Richardson is my 2nd great grandmother. I descend from Jasper Stewart, a son from her first marriage. Thanks for any assistance. Carolyn

    3. Hello, Gay. I cannot actually call myself a "Skip Richardson researcher," but the authors of the Richardson appendix in the book The Collie Family of Pittsylvania County, Virginia (This is a part of the longer title.), Betty Cox Collie and Robert King, think that my Pittsylvania Co. ancestor, John Richardson, was the son of Thomas Richardson II and Lucy Thompson (?), grandson of Thomas Richardson, Sr. and Mary Cruse/Crews (?). and greatgrandson of Skip Richardson and Margaret ___? John Richardson married Rebecca Jennings in Pittsylvania Co. in 1814 and moved his family to Gibson Co. in west Tennessee in the 1830's. I also thought that the given name "Skip" was odd for that early a period. Their footnote on p736 says that "His unusual first name is suggestive that one of his maternal ancestors might have been a Skipworth, which is a well-known English surname." All I know about Skip Richardson comes from this book, but I, too, am interested in learning more about him, particularly anything that will help to document that John Richardson's descent from him is correct. Kathryn Schultz kathysschultz@earthlink.net >Hello, I am new to this list and need to know if there is a Skip >Richardson researcher out there. >I need to ask you some questions about his family. >Hope to hear from someone who may know a little about him. > > Gay Nix > > >Gay Nix >warpaint1128@sbcglobal.net > > > > > >==== RICHARDSON Mailing List ==== >To use the Richardson Query Board: > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=surnames.richardson >To review Archived messages: > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/RICHARDSON-L

    3. Charlene, I have just started on the Richardson's and I am not even sure they are on my line. I am digging and hope to find my Mary Mullins the wife of Joseph Mullins is a Richardson, She named a son Thomas Richardson Mullins who was born ca 1777 and most likley there in Halifax County, the reasoning behind this is Joseph was a Rev War soldier and enlisted there in Halifax County.and is found on deeds pertaining to Skip Richardson. Joseph Mullins parents were John and Susannah (Morton) Mullins, the daughter of Joseph and Susannah Morton. Skip Richardson has a will and I need to order that and see what it may contain. Do you know where in Halifax County your William lived? My Mullins were in the area of Bates Branch. You said your line went to Hart County, Ky. My Joseph and Mary Mullins went to Henry Co, Va but don't know how long they were there before going to Jefferson, Grainger and Bedford Co, Tenn. Changing surnames my Pedigo family went to Barren Co, Ky. Be looking forward to your reply. Gay Nix TEbel2888@aol.com wrote: I too would like to hear about RICHARDSON from Halifax Co., Va. 3. Gary, I think that is a odd name for the time period of 1700's for Halifax County. But I wish the other ancestors of mine had different names like that instead of John, James and etc. Skip had a daughter Susannah. Do you know if your Richarsons had land around Bates branch in Halifax County, Va. My interest is my ancestor Joseph Mullins had son Thomas Richardson Mullins who was born ca 1777 Va and in Halifax County. Skip is on deeds with Joseph Mullins, Joseph's wife was Mary, so trying to find Mary's father, who could be Skip. Skip has will and I need to try and get that and check it out. Can you help, and how are you related to Richardson's? Gay Nix Gay Nix Gary Richardson <gar3131@msn.com> wrote: I have a brother nicknamed Kip Richardson. I doubt that's who you're seeking, however. 1. Lysander L. RICHARDSON of Niagara County, New York
    2. Justina Cook
    3. Hi~ I am looking for information on a possible daughter of Lysander L. Richardson (1848-1910). I believe the daughter would have been from his first marriage, although it is a remote possibility that she was from his second marriage, though based on information I currently have, that doesn't seem very likely. Any help with this would be very greatly appreciated! The information I have is as follows: Lysander L. RIchardson was born Aug 1848 in New York (his family lived around the Niagara county portion of New York) to Arnold & Eliza C. Richardson. His father died between 1860 & 1870 and his mother died between 1870 & 1880. Sometime between 1870 and 1880, Lysander both married and divorced. At some point, he began working for the railroad and ended up living in Clinton County, Iowa where his brother, William E., also resided for a period of time. Lysander married a divorcee by the name of Malissa "Luella" [Cook] Halley on 26 October 1880. For some reason, they went all the way to Genessee county, Michigan to tie the knot. They ended up settling in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas where they bought a house and Lysander died in July 1910. One of his obituaries mentions that he was survived by his wife and a daughter. I had not previously found any mention of a daughter, and his second wife, Luella, consistently told census takers that she'd had no children, so I'm guessing that the daughter may have been from his first marriage. Her birthdate should be sometime between 1870 & 1900, and she could have been born anywhere from New York to Michigan, Iowa or Kansas! I would love to hear from anyone with questions, further information or a connection to this family Thanks for listening, and take care! "-) Justina "-)

    3. Hi Janette: Gee, People out there are looking out for me, makes me feel so hopeful, one day to find my Richardson. Thanks for the heads - up. I did see the post on Washington Irving Richardson, but...........I didn't think he was related to mine.. But need a bit more info to be sure. My Samuel K. Richardson was born ca.1806 in (unknown Co.) GA, lived in and around Roane, Bradley TN. married two women from Roane Co. TN. moved to Carroll CO. AR. by 1853. (1853 tax list) He moved there with a number of other friends and relation. Maples, Harvey, Kirkham, Cole, Rose, and probably many more I don't know about. Samuel's brother Thomas also moved to Franklin Co. about the same time. Census shows Samuel and Thomas' parents born in NC. There were many Richardson in GA around that time but have been unable to make a connection to any family group. Samuel is on the 1850 census of Gordon CO. GA. with his second wife and children. Who were your Richardson, were from? Thanks again, I really appreciate any help I can get. Margrett "born a Richardson" McCorkle

    2. Does anyone have W. I. Richardson (Caucasian) born in South Carolina on Nov. 10, 1832 and died Sept. 2, 1915 (Benton County, Arkansas) on their family tree? He was a merchant in Round Prairie and possibly served in the Civil War. His first name is either William or Washington and the middle might be Irving or Irvin. The following is his obituary from Benton County, Arkansas. I know where he is buried and with whom but do not know his siblings or parents. "RICHARDSON, W.I. - was born in South Carolina, Nov. 10, 1832, died at the home of his son, Thomas, Sept 2, 1915, of general debility and old age. He was married to Maggie Brockinaw July 25, 1869, who preceded him to the beyond some years ago. Four children remain of this union, Robert of California, Della Wilson of Tahlequah, Okla., Thomas of near Bloomfield, and William of Gentry. Capt. Richardson, as he was called, was a highly respected citizen, a life-long Mason, and his memory is cherished by a large circle of friends. The funeral was held at the Bloomfield Church Sept 3 conducted by Elder O. L. Sumner of the Christian Church. Burial in the Bloomfield Cemetery. Gentry Journal-Advance 9/10/1915" He first appears on the Cane Hill, Boonesboro, Arkansas censuses in 1870 and 1880. On the 1890 he has relocated to Round Prairie, Benton County, Arkansas. I would like to see if he fits into anyone's family tree. Particularly, in South Carolina. His children are Della, Mary, William, Thomas and Robert. Thank you, Maureen ensti9@aol.com
