Susan, have you looked in the California Death Records? I did recently and was able to find my Great Grandmothers death record and have sent for the death certificate...try this site.. http://userdb.rootsweb.com/ca/death/serach/cgi I found my grandparents also that had passed away in the early 1970's . The source is The California Department of Health Services Office of Health Information and Research Vital Statistics Section. The address where you can write for it is available from Cyndi's List....Just type in as a keyword unless you may already have it marked as a favorite......I looked quickly to see if I could find the address to write to but you should be able to find it on Cyndi's site....Good luck to you and anyone else who can use this info....D. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Jones" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2001 12:34 PM Subject: [RICHARDSON] Fred and Minnie (RICHARDSON) MacDONALD > Hi List, > > I hope everyone is having a great day. I am posting this query to all 3 mailing lists. I know there are many researchers who can steer me in the right direction. Suggestions and corrections are welcome. Zelda Dubel. [email protected] For my computer I have standardized the spellings as above, even though there were many spelling variations. I am attempting to connect the proper RICHARDSON family with our COMES family. Our ancestor Margaret COMES' mother Miss RICHARDSON had a brother William RICHARDSON. This William RICHARDSON supposedly had a will in Baltimore, MD which left his estate to his niece Margaret COMES. I do not have the will nor the date nor any details, but it might be in the 1700-1760 time period. FAMILY #1 (our ancestors): Margaret COMES (COOMBS, COMBS, etc.), b ca 1726, d 1796 (will dated 12 May 1796 Frederick Co MD, spelled Margaret Book), d/o Mr. COMES & Miss RICHARDSON, m (his 2nd) ca 1755 Frederick Co MD? Bartholomew BUCHER (BOOKER, BOOGHER, BOOHER, etc.), b 1717 Germany, d Middletown, Frederick Co MD, will probated 1 May 1792, s/o Balgas BUCHER from Germany. Bartholomew BUCHER had 14 children. His 1st wife was Margaret BOWSER (BAUSER). Researchers are not sure who the mother of children #8 and #9 were, but let's assume for now that they came from his 2nd wife, and he had 5 or 7children by his 2nd wife, Margaret COMES. Child #10 was Elizabeth BUCHER (our ancestor), b 1766 Middletown, Frederick Co MD, m ca 1791 PA? to Jacob C. REPLOGLE. FAMILY #2 (our ancestors): 1st generation: Nicholas BUCHER (BOOGHER), Sr., b ca 1680 Germany, m 1st Unknown in Germany, m 2nd Kathleen (Catherine) ---. 2nd generation: Balgas (Baltas) BUCHER (BOOGHER), b ca 1700 Germany, d 1762 Germany, m Unknown. 3rd generation: Bartholomew BUCHER (BOOGHER), b 1717, d 1792 Frederick Co MD, m 1st Margaret BOWSER (BAUSER), m 2nd Margaret COMES (COOMBS, COMBS, etc.), b ca 1726, d 1796 (will dated 12 May 1796 Frederick Co MD, spelled Margaret Book), d/o Mr. COMES & Miss RICHARDSON. FAMILY #3 (not yet connected to ours): 1st generation: Richard COOMBS, b 1675 Charles Co MD, d 1752 Charles Co MD, m Unknown. 2nd generation: Andrew COOMBS, b before 1714 Charles Co MD, m ca 1739 Miss CLEMENTS, b before 1718 Prince Georges Co MD. I have a Samuel Richardson (born c.1838 in Indiana) who died in the Civil War on January 17, 1863 at Napoleon, AR.... Civil War - Enlisted on August 22, 1862 at Davenport, IA - age 24 and died probably from wounds obtained in battle at Arkansas Post, AR January 10-11, 1862. Co. H 31st Inf. Iowa. He married February 23, 1856 in Monticello, Jones Co., IA to Phoebe Clemmer (1838-1905). Can anyone connect to this Samuel Richardson? Steven
Edgar Yes I have tried David Richardson's site. Their might be some connection but I haven't found it yet. There are some R's that not all of the children are listed. But I have not been able to connect anything at all to my R's. Since I don't really know who to look for, I never thought Joel R would be so hard to trace. Thanks for your help Becky

Thanks Edgar The Richardson I am trying to find is Joel Richardson, according to his enlistment papers for the War of 1812 he was born in Hartford, in 1797. At some point he went to Ohio Co. VA. Where he married Catherine Davis in 1832. It was his first marriage. The reason I think his mother's name was Maryann, is according to the census for Ohio Co. there is a Maryann with 10 children, she is listed as head of household, with one of these kids being the right age for Joel. I can't find any trace of him after the War until 1832 when he married. I'm trying to find his parents and where he was born and any siblings, so far no luck. I will check out what you sent and see if any of those connect in any way Thanks Becky
Hi List, I hope everyone is having a great day. I have finally found where my gr. aunt and her husband moved to and eventually died. I have been chasing Minnie's family all over from VT to Canada to MA and now CA. I could use some help in getting the obits for them. The last known place of residence was in Glendora, Los Angeles County, CA. Fred, aka Frederick, MacDonald married Minnie Maud Richardson in MA. Minnie was born in Canada and moved with her father, Nelker Richardson, and siblings to Middlesex County around 1898. I do not have the marriage date for Minnie and Fred but in 1931, Minnie and Fred were married and living in Chelmsford, Middlesex, MA. Now for their death information to get their obits. Fred died 7 March 1970 in Los Angeles County (70). I am guessing the number 70 includes Glendora. Fred was 83 years old at the time of his death. Minnie died 6 Oct. 1971, same place. Minnie was 89 years old. If you could help me obtain their obits, I would really be grateful. My FHC is closed so I cannot order any films. I checked out the LA Times on-line and they want $160 just to start a lookup for the obits when all the information is given to them. That is more than I can afford on disability income. I will pay for any obit, if you are able to assist. If you just want to hand-copy the obits and then e-mail them, that is ok, too. You all have a great afternoon and good luck on your ancestor hunting. Sue Jones [email protected]
Hello Becky, I have a Mary that married an Ira M. Richardson and was from VT per the 1880 U.S. Census, PA. She and Ira were living with their family in Delaware Co. NY per the 1850 U.S. Census NY. On the down side she was 31 years old in 1850. Your Mary could possibly be a relative. Do you know of any other Richardsons in VT and NY during the 1800 - 1850 time span. I am working on the Richardsons. Waiting for your reply.
