    3. Hi, I was just cleaning files, and I ran across this old e-mail....Don't even know if this is still the right e-mail address. Anyway, was interested in Rebecca Richardson, who married William Whitaker. What part of TN was Rebecca Born in. I have a Daniel Richardson who was born in 1801 in either TN or VA. He lived most his life in Campbell County, TN, which is very close to Pluski County, KY. One of Daniel's daughter's was named Rebecca, and was born abt. 1834. Could there be a connection...interested in talking. 2. Tom Wilde
    3. Dave, Thanks for the information. I'll keep it in my Richardson file and get back to you if I find any connections between our families. My interest in the name Granville is because my father's frst name was Granville. I suspect that it was given to him by his mother, Ella Richardson Wilde. But, in all of my Wilde and Richardson family research (which is extensive, especially the Wilde line) this name never appeared until my father's birth. (By the way, my father detested the name, always signing as G. M. Wilde, and preferred to be addressed by his middle name Mack) For generations both families followed tradition by naming their children after grandparents, etc. My father was the only exception and I'm just curious as to where my grandmother came up with the name. 2. Dear List, I am onto a different Richardson line and am asking for help. Henry Hobson Richardson was born 1838 in LA. Father was Henry Dickenson Richardson and mother was Caroline Priestley. Henry graduated from Harvard and became a famous architect. He died 1886 in MA, where, I believe, he spent most of his life. I know he is related to the Richardson's in my family (OH& TN) but do not have a clue about the connection. There is lots of info about him on the web, but it deals with his architecture and the buildings he designed. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jan [email protected]

Sabra, daughter of Thomas Brown and his second wife, Hannah Jones, came to NY from Attleboro, MA and was from a different line of the same extended Brown family of Rehoboth, MA as was Hopey Brown, Levi Richardson's mother. Sabra Brown's lineage can be traced back five generations to John Brown and Dorothy Beauchamp who arrived in Boston on the "Lyon" in 1632. Their son, James Brown, married Lydia Howland, daughter of John Howland and Elizabeth Tilly, both of whom arrived in Massachusettes on the "Mayflower" in 1620. 3. Sue, My great great grandfather was Seth Richardson of St. Lawrence Co., NY. His wife was Clarissa Farwell. They had several children, one of whom was my great grandfather, Seth Farwell Richardson. Seth F. was born in Canton, St. Lawrence Co., NY, in 1836. Seth F. grew up around Canton and Stockholm, NY. He was in the 50th NY Volunteer Engineers during the Civil War. He married Orpha Blanchard in Potsdam in 1865 after returning from the Civil War. Orpha and Seth F. then moved to Wisconsin where my grandmother, Ella A. Richardson, was born in 1872. Several other children were born in Wisconsin before the entire family moved to Anoka Co., Minnesota, where Ella married my grandfather Thomas G. Wilde. Since Canton, Stockholm, Brasher (Falls) and Potsdam are all near each other, I figure we must have a connection somewhere. I think that my g,g,grandfather was born in Vermont but I don't have any proof of that yet. I have not yet begun my research into the Farwell family. Besides my g,grandfather Seth F., Seth and Clarissa also had at least one other son, Julius Richardson, who married and settled in Marquette, Michigan. I have had contact with another Richardson researcher in Minnesota and her Richardson family is (we're certain) connected to my g,g,grandfather somehow. I'm thinking that you're Richardson family of Vermont may be connected to my Seth Richardson. By the way, Seth F. and Orpha had several children, in addition to my grandmother Ella, who's names were: Frank Elmer, Cora M., Ernest Farwell, Hiram M., and Anna B. Admittedly these given names are quite common but the similarity to some of the given names in your Richardson family is interesting. Just out of curiosity, does the given name Granville appear in any of your Richardson family? Let's keep in touch. Tom Wilde Chesapeake, Virginia

I am looking for data relating to the above and to Clement Richardson. They were from Ohio, do not know where, and came to southern Illinois--White County. Any help would be appreciated. 2. Hello LIst, I am a new subscriber to this list so bear with me as I know very little of the Richardson line. I'm hoping someone out there can provide me with some knowledge of the New Kent Co. VA Richardson family. My New Kent Co. VA Manning (Mannin) family named several generations of their sons with the first name of Richardson. I feel there must be a Richardson/Mannin (Manning) connection.... Any help would be appreciated! Thank you, Darlene Block

Give me a chance to study your info and get back to you. There are a lot of holes in my RICHARDSON database where my ancestors have noted things like "5 daughters and 4 sons" without giving names. This family (or tribe...take your pick!) moved a lot in the 1800s...and apparently the ties were not that close between those that stayed and those that moved on. The given names continued....iinteresting. - Tom Wilson

    2. Hello: Just noticed in your message that you are looking for info on Primitive Baptists. I was too and found the following website, which collects and recounts histories of Primitive Baptist churches all over the country. I found relatives from over 100 years ago listed in Missouri. You might check it out. http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html Valerie In a message dated 9/22/01 9:48:21 AM Central Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: << Excuse me, but i am butting in here for info too. I know they were living near each other in Alabama and came to Texas about the same time. I know where Henry is buried, only a news clipping can add "Uncle Jack" in the same cemetary. Kaufman County cannot find a will for either. I know the family was long time Primitive Baptist members, but cannot get the Baptist church to answer about family or family history. All i can add is can your HELP!! >>

    3. Tom, this is most interesting. My 3rd-great grandfather was William Richardson b. ca. 1800 in TN, m. to "Polly", also born ca. 1800 in TN. Their son Burrell B., my gr-gr-grandfather, was born in Wayne Co. KY in June of 1827 and married Nancy Jane Riley in Macon Co. MO 5/28/1854. William and Polly also had 7 other children: John b. 1823 in TN; William b. 1830 in KY; Philip b. 1832 in KY; Jesse b. 1835 in KY; Matilda b. 1837 in IL; Elizabeth b. 1842 in MO; and Mary b. 1842 in MO. BTW, Jesse is a common name in my family (my father and grandfather). According to the 1900 census of Mercer, Lindley Twp. MO, William F. Richardson (b. 1844 in IL) and Polly (his mother) had his brother, Thomas, and a sister, Margaret, living with them. Thomas was born ca. 1864; Margaret ca. 1865, both in MO, parents born TN. Do you know of any connection here? The Wayne Co. KY, TN, IL and proximity of birth years for my William (ca. 1800 according to census) and Isaac (1811) make me wonder. 1. [RICHARDSON] Help with this RICHARDSON family
    2. Susan Jones
    3. Hi List, I need some help with this RICHARDSON family. In the 1860s and 1870s, they were living in Wolcott, Lamoille, VT. By the 1880 census, they had pulled up stakes and moved to Brasher, St. Lawrence, NY. I have some information on what happened to some of the children but I have been unable to find what happened to them. According to an obit of 1931, Fred and Frank were living somewhere in California. I am guessing in Los Angeles County. I have the names of the spouse for the 3 daughters (Alice is missing from the census) but I cannot match them up. I also cannot find the death dates of the parents. The spouses of the daughters, as of 1931, were Walter DUNN of Rockville, CT, Hiram SWEET of Lawrence, MA and Ira CHASE of VT. Florence is the wife of James RICHARDSON but I do not have her last name. I have not been able to find the spouse of the daughter-in-law Evilina. Here is the 1880 census. If you recognize any of these children and can help with their families, I would love to hear from you. As of 1931, only Edward was still living somewhere in NY. I have put most of my search effort into Butler, Allegheny, and Washington counties. Wayne first shows up in the 1880 census of Washington County, PA. At that census taking he had a VA born wife, and a 1 year old son. Thank you Ron Richardson
