It would naturally be supposed that the will of Thomas Richardson would be found in the Commissary Court of Essex and Hertfordshire, but the Archdeaconry Court of Huntingdon or that portion in the Hitchin Registry, had jurisdiction over part of Hertsfordshire, and included 77 parishes. Hi List, I was going through one page of the Protestant Birth and Christening for Shefford, Quebec 1822-1879, by Neal Broadhurst. I have come across several births which I am curious about. It states the parents were Calvin S. RICHARDSON and Caroline TODD. I have a Calvin RICHARDSON and Charlotte TODD who lived in Shefford. I do not recognize any of the names of the children from Calvin and Caroline. Can anyone tell me if these 2 families are somehow related and if so how? Sue in Cold Florida [email protected]
An ancestor of mine, Moses RICHARDSON, married Mariettena CERACEA on the Greek island of Zante (now Zakynthos). Their daughter Annetta was born there in 1814. She married in Sussex, England in 1833 to Stephen HOLMAN. I know nothing more of him but wonder if anyone out there recognises this Moses? Ever hopeful, Max Spiller NSW Australia
My Great-Grandfather Robert Richardson,b.12 December 1847 in Glasgow,Scotland,m. Janet Jeffery, 5 September 1873 in Lanarkshire,Scotland, d. 24 Feburary 1932 in Carterville,Williamson County,Illinois. *** Robert's prior life is a mystery, the older family members always said Robert, was in the English Army, at the time of marriage. I do know that Robert's profession in Scotland, was Journeyman Iron Molder. *** The few living family members today have said that Robert did not have the Scotish Brogue, like my great-grandmother Janet Jeffery. Any help will be appreciated, Jack Winter, [email protected]

Does anyone have connections to any of these Richardsons listed below in 1880 census Hamilton Co., TN or 1880 Moore Co., TN? I think the mother, Sarah, in Hamilton Co. is the mother of my g-grandfather Elias Richardson who was living in Alabama. These siblings match up with that family. I think the J. M. is Jesse M. Also the John and brother William in Moore Co. match the siblings of that family. I am looking (still) for information on Charles Willard Richardson. I have learned that he was born in Amity, NY, most likely in the 1850-1860 period. He subsequently married Alice Maria Carter in Weld County, CO in 1878. John Maylone Tollhouse, CA
Following email received from Gordon Watts, the gentleman who has been a tower of strength in our campaign to have public access to our historic census records. Good news for all genealogists and the Canadian people as a whole! Pat __________________ Greetings All. Sound the Trumpets!! Ring the Bells!! Shout it from the rooftops!! I have just received a telephone call from the Office of Senator Lorna Milne. The Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology has PASSED Bill S-12 - An Act to Amend the National Archives of Canada Act and Statistics Act (census records), WITHOUT AMENDMENT. The Bill will now be referred back to the Senate in Report Stage and will receive more debate. We are optimistic that following that debate Bill S-12 will pass third reading and be referred to the House of Commons. We still have a ways to go, but having the Senate Committee pass this Bill, especially without amendment, has been a major step towards achieving our goal of regaining the public access to Historic Census records that we are presently denied. While passed without amendment, the Senate Committee did have some observations to make regarding the Bill. I am not at this time aware of what those observation are, but will post them as soon as I know what they are. Having passed this stage does not mean that we can let up on our efforts to let MPs and Senators how we feel regarding this issue. I encourage you to write the Members of the Senate Committee thanking them for their accepting Bill S-12. Write other Senators to encourage them to support the Bill in debate and to vote to pass the Bill in third reading. Write the MPs as well to seek their support when the Bill is referred to the House of Commons. Continue to collect signatures on our petitions. We need to tell our representative in Parliament that it is not just a handful of genealogists and historians that seek access to these records -- it is the people of Canada who do so. This morning I am a 'happy camper'. Please forward this news to all mail lists to which you belong.
