Hi List, If there is anyone out there that has ever found where Nelker got married to Margaret Harley, I would love to hear from you. I have searched everywhere. Nelker disappeared from home between the ages of 4 of and 14. He next shows up in St. Lawrence County with a wife and 2 children. His wife was born and raised in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada. She was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church in Cornwall. There are no records of her marriage to Nelker though there are marriages of her siblings later where Margaret and Nelker were the witnesses. I have checked St. Lawrence County including the newspapers on microfilm from the LDS but there is no mention of their marriage. Nelker was associated with the Salvation Army but they say they don't have any records for him while living in St. Lawrence County, NY. I have checked his birth town of Wolcott, Lamoille, VT without any luck either. If anyone has any suggestions or has found his marriage, I am really open for suggestions. His marriage documents are the only thing I am missing. Nelker's first two children were born between 1875 and 1877. Sue [email protected]
Here is another RICHARDSON generation that has been researched and documented. It might be of help to someone trying to find their Northern RICHARDSON lines. My g g gf was John Richardson born in NC 1819 and went to TN probably 1840. I have sought his parents for many years. I do not know their given names. John came to Washington County, TN and then to Jefferson and finally to Hawkins. He was a fairly large land owner and associated with stage line. The 1870 census for Hawkins County, TN for John's household lists, MARTHA ROSE , 36 white female and MARY ROSE age 1 white female. I have never known who they were. They are not on the 1860 or 1880 census.
Cathi: Noticed your note in rootsweb concerning the Richardson family. Also noted that you are searching for data on Fletcher. So am I. My grandmother was a Fletcher. I am seeking data on Clement Richardson and William Clement Richardson, the latter born in OH. When I saw you were looking for data on Clement, I wondered if there might be a connection with these two family. Hope to hear from you in this regard. Peace, William G. Here is some more RICHARDSON family that I have information on. Sue [email protected] CAROLINE MAY12 RICHARDSON (NELKER ELBERT11, WILLIAM R.10, CALVIN9, WYMAN8, JOHN7, WILLIAM6, STEPHEN5, SAMUEL4, THOMAS3, THOMAS2, THOMAS1) was born 1879 in St. Lawrence County, New York. She married ROBERT PRESTON FITZPATRICK November 18, 1897 in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada, son of HUGH FITZPATRICK and CATHERINE. He was born Abt. 1876 in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada. Notes for CAROLINE MAY RICHARDSON: Caroline was known as Carrie but her correct name was Caroline. Her correct name was found on a marriage document for Caroline May Richardson, daughter of Nelker and Margaret Richardson, #213915/98, in Cornwall, Stormont, Ontario, Canada. At the time of her marriage, Caroline was 21 years old and a servant. It states that she was born in Mason, NY., but that is believed to be a transcription error. In trying to read old handwriting, I believe the town was actually Massena, St. Lawrence, NY, which is just across the St. Lawrence River from Cornwall. She was married in the Church of England, probably Trinity Anglican Church in Cornwall. The witnesses to the marriage were: Brown, ? Annie R., Cornwall, & Serley, Lucy, Cornwall. She and Robert were married by T. C. Brown. Caroline died in 1949 according to the headstone. She is on her sister, Minnie's, headstone. Notes for ROBERT PRESTON FITZPATRICK: Robert's name was found doing a search for a Carrie Richardson. The correct name, using the names of the parents was found and the name of her husband was found. According to the marriage record, Robert was a Teamster and was 24 years old at time of marriage. Date and place of his death is unknown. Children of CAROLINE RICHARDSON and ROBERT FITZPATRICK are: i. FLORENCE VIOLA13 FITZPATRICK, b. February 27, 1892. 8. ii. VIOLA FITZPATRICK, b. February 12, 1898, Messina, St. Lawrence County, New York; d. Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. iii. GERTRUDE VIOLA FITZPATRICK, b. March 30, 1899. iv. GILBERTA M. FITZPATRICK, b. April 08, 1900; d. March 05, 1995, Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; m. PANESITTI. v. ARLENE C. FITZPATRICK, b. September 03, 1903; d. June 25, 1996, Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts; m. CARRICK.

I have been researching the RICHARDSON families of Henry County, Virginia for more years that I care to admit, and have accumulated quite a bit of information on them. Most all of my information comes from county or court records and is accompanied by citations. Martha Agness Richardson was one of four known children of Arthur Richardson and Mary Jane Fleeman and the granddaughter of the progenitor of all Richardson born in Henry County. Martha Agness Richardson was born 14 Dec. 1840, Henry County, Va. I have not been able to find her date of death in the Henry County or associated cemetery records. After reading your query, I assume she moved to Missouri. Is she the Martha A. Edge listed in the 1880 census of Linn, Cedar Co., Missouri with her daughter, Martha Pea, Age 16? Anyway, Martha Agness Richardson married 5 Dec. 1858, Henry Co., to Samuel Hill Peay. My information from two different sources shows he was born circa 1836, Rockingham County, N.C. He died 30 March 1865, in that notorious federal prison in Elmira, N. Y. He served as a Sergeant in Company F, Leatherwood Fencibles, 42nd Va. Infantry Regt., C.S.A. As far as I can determine, Samuel and Martha Agness (Richardson) Peay had three children, two of whom died young. If you would like to exchange information, including the all important accompanying documentation, please contact me directly at the following e-mail address: [email protected] Notice that there is only one letter W in the widowmaker part of this address. I would love to hear from you regarding your information on this family, especially the citations that support the family record. I can take Martha Agness Richardson back two generations. Eagerly looking forward to your e-mail, I am, Sincerely yours, Bruce - Williamsburg, Virginia Bruce At 12:08 PM 1/22/02 -0500, you wrote: >Martha Agnes Richardson was b. 1842 Henry County, Va She m. I am seeing information regarding CLEMENT RICHARDSON, b. May 25, 1756, married to Catherine Baker and William Clement Richardson, b. September 7, 1794, in Ohio, married to Ardela Baker, b. 1805 Any help would be deeply appreciated. William G. Johnson [email protected]
Thanks for your response. My ggf was Thomas R. Richardson. He married Sallie A. Rodgers 30 Dec 1880 in Van Zandt County, TX and they moved to Houston County shortly thereafter. He died in 1940 at age 85. I really don't know how old he was when he came to TX but the legend has it that he came upon the home of Allen Rodgers who more or less took him in. He later married a daughter of the family, named Sallie. In the 1880 U. S. Census, Tom Richardson was enumerated living in the same area as Allen Rodgers (Van Zandt County), but Tom and Sallie were not married at that time. By the way, I have a copy of the marriage license and it spells his last name as "Richeson", but the family always used the name "Richardson". I assume it is a clerical error, since the license is not completed correctly. There are a number of Richardsons in Trinity County; there is a lady online researching the Trinity County,. TX Richardsons. A cousin of mine from Trinity County is married to a Kent Richardson, who is from Nacogdoches, I believe. There are some Richardsons in our church as well. Keep in touch! Joe Joe W. Hello Eleonore, I have a marriage of Ann Richardson, widow of Edward Lane who married a Edmund Cartlege. In her father's will dated 1719 states she had three children by Edmund Cartledge. Her father was Samuel Richardson (Quaker) who arrived in Philadelphia in 1687. This is a little early for your Ann but I believe it is the same family. You may want to look at http://downloads.members.com/skatfamily0/ this site is great and has a lot of Penn. Richardsons. David P. Hello Judy. I am researching Richardsons from Ballylooby, Cahir, Tipperary. I have Thomas Richardson born there around 1841 who married Mary Dillon there in 1862. Their children that I know of were Nora, Margaret who married John Keating of Ballydrehid, Bansha, Thomas and Denis who married Mary Clohessy of Shanrahan, Clogheen, Tipperary. I checked all the records and notes I have for Charles on the slim chance he might be mentioned even though he is from a different part of Tipp, but no matches. I will keep your post in case I come across Charles in my future Richardson research.
