Would you happen to have a Lavina Richardson in your files who was married to Frank Kelly in the St. Lawrence Co., New York area, around 188? Thanks, Barb
Candace, Jesse seems to be a favorite name of several Richardson lines in TN, KY, MO. I wonder why. My father was Jessie Owen and my grandfather was Jesse Emmett. The family came from TN, KY, MO and IA. Good luck in your search. Got a death certificate today for William Huntley Richardson Sr and his parents were listed as: E.H. I am listing the following information in hopes of making a connection and filling in the blanks for someone else. If you have information related to anyone on my NC Richardson list, please contact me. Joyce Honeycutt Holman (Researching Honeycutt, Simpson, Baucom, Richardson, Price, Medlin, Orr, Weddington, Robbins, Mewborn, Parrot, Jenkins, Helms, Whitley, Presler, Williams, Ogburn, Edwards, Rowell, Clontz, Holman, Winchester, Wolfe, Crowell, Mullis, Rogers, Broome, Marlin, and others.) Edward Richardson, Sr. (This information came from combined research by Belinda S. Sims and Lillie Richardson Hearn completed on or about 1992. My ancestors are noted in bold print.) Edward Richardson is said to have been born in Roanoke Virginia in 1751(*d. 1798) and came to North Carolina around 1772. He settled on the head waters of Richardson Creek, which was named for him. He was married more than twice. Some research indicated that he was married to Sally Pierce and also to Polly Mason. Another possible marriage was to Catherine Bassinger, although there is no proof of any of his marriages. (* Edward Richardson left a will in Mecklenburg Co., which is not dated, but the date of death [1798] is confirmed because there is a transfer of a deed recorded in Mecklenburg Co. which states that Edward Richardson is deceased. In his will he named his children: Edward, George, Mason, Brinkley, Thomas, and his two daughters, Sally and Betsy. Edward Richardson,Sr., buried in Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Union County, NC, which is located about 10 miles south of Monroe on the Lancaster Highway. Son Edward, Jr. (d. 1852) married Jane Thompson (d.1839) Children: 1. Elmira Sally 1880 -???? 2. Alexander W. 1805 - March 30, 1884. He was the first sheriff of Union County, NC after it was formed from Anson and Mecklenburg Counties. He first married Tabitha Irby and second Selena Small Richardson (widow of Wiley Richardson killed in War Between the States) 3. Mary (Polly) 1807-???? married Moses Starnes. 4. Isabella 1816-1889 married Rev. Everett Irby (1818-1875). 5. Jonathon (John) Fincher Richardson 1820 married Margaret Irby in 1850. He married Caroline Richardson, daughter of Kendrick Richardson second. He married his third wife, Rachel Rosannah (Rosa) Helms 1842-???? . She was the mother of my great-grandfather, Thomas Alexander Richardson, who married Savannah Louise Josephine Price. All were from the Union County, NC area. Edward Richardson, Sr. served almost continuously in the Revolutionary War. He was assigned to Smallwood's brigade and served under Col. Hambright and Capt. Brinkley in the Battle of Waxhaw, Drakes' Thicket and other battles in the Revolutionary War. In addition to personal service, he furnished horses and supplies for the Army. He received a grant of land in 1790 for 300 acres lying in what was then Mecklenburg County, NC, but is now Union County, NC.
What year was this census? I don't have anything but his name on the 1910 Delaware County, OK census and he was listed as 72 years old. Terrie, The 1910 census was from Delaware County, OK. It says Jessie was 72, so I figured he was born 1838. I don't know anymore details. Larealia: Do you recognize the name of Clement Richardson and William Clement Richardson? There were from some place in Ohio. I have a little information on them but lack solid data. Wow! There are a lot of Richardson lines out there. I thought I would again throw one of my brickwalls in to see if anyone has information. I am trying to trace the family of Henry Dickinson Richardson born in Bermuda abt. 1800? He migrated to New Orleans and married Catherine Caroline Priestley. They had a son, Henry Hobson Richardson, b. 1838, who spent most of his life in NY, Boston. I am trying to connect him with my Richardsons in Ohio. (Aaron m. Clarinda Young. Had daughter Mariah, b. 1857, who is my direct ancestor. Live in Hardin, Champaign, Union, Marion counties.) Thanks, Jan Smith
Hi No . I am also at a brick wall, I don't know their parents . I try to keep track of Richardson's born around 1800 in Georgia, and the parents are unknown, and hoping some day to make some connection to find their parents. Bill Ashley
I am like you, I was very excited when I started reading your message only to find it is not the same John Wesley Richardson. This one was born about 1819 in SC and was on the 1850 DeKalb Co., Ga and 1860 Cherokee Co., Ala census records. It is very difficult to find anything on this man. I wish you luck researching your John W. Searching for information on the family of Ebbie Richardson b.(Dec.1848) & Mary Unknown listed in the 1900 Brittons Neck Marion Co. S.C. Census Records.Children listed are Jack 1880,Joseph C. 1884,Rennie1887, & Mollie1889. I have reason to think Ebbie may have been married before to an Emma or Della an had another son Charlie . Would greatly appreciate any information on this family.
If memory serves, "Gone to Georgia" or "Wiregrass Pioneers," contains Bible records of this family. Also seem to recall that two brothers of this line lived for a time in early Conecuh County, AL. Good luck
