Seaman Brazil Richardson b. 1-29-1858 Alpena, Carroll CO. AR. d. 2-7-1943 Alpena Pass, Carroll CO. AR. m. Sarah Malinda Maples b.1860 d.1917 Carroll CO. AR. d/o Americus Bonaparte Maples and Matilda A. Rose. Seaman's father was Sam (Samuel) Richardson b. 1806 in GA. (unk county) he moved with his wife Elizabeth Jane Harvey b.1832 TN. and only child at that time Cornealy Richardson to Carroll CO. ca.1850 The rest of the children were all born in AR. Samuel was close friends with Americus Bonaparte Maples, the families moved together to Carroll CO. AR. and remained close for the next generations. My g-grandfather Seaman married Sarah Malinda Maples (d/o Americus and Matilda Rose, Maples.) Seaman was close to James Gunter Maples (his father-in-laws brother) James G. Maples married Mary Joanna Harvey. I have been trying to connect these two Harvey women, to determine relationship, but have not found anything on either of them. Mary Harvey died young after the marriage, and James married Ann C. Tate. they had several children one named Cornealy Maples and one named Seaman Maples also each Seaman Richardson and James G. Maples had daughters named Tilitha. ( I think this shows their closeness) Seaman also named a son James. Seaman and Malinda had a son named Garland Blaine Richardson b. 1888 Carroll CO. AR, (my grandfather) he married 2nd Evaline Mary "Linee" Ewing, their only child( my father Fred Richardson) Another son of Americus Bonaparte and Matilda Rose was Marion Dow Maples, (named Dow after Matilda's brother Lorenzo Dow Rose) this Marion Dow Maples ended up in SandSprings,OK where his descendents still live. These Maples were very close to my Garland Richardson who also ended up in Sand Springs OK and died there in 1956. I state all this to show these families of Richardson and Maples hung rather close for over 100 years. There is just so many pieces of the puzzle missing. Children of Samuel Richardson and Elizabeth Jane are: M. Cornealy; Frances A.; Orlena ; Seaman B.; James L.; Eramie F.: Nancy Elizabeth.; Joseph B.(m.Haynes); Buelah (m. Smith) and Tilitha (m. Silver) James Gunter Maples b. 5-19-1820 Seiver CO. TN. m. 1st Mary J. Harvey m.2nd Ann C. Tate Their Son Joseph Seaman Maples b.9-29-1862 Bobo, AR m. Martha Barnet McQouwn. It the Obit of Seaman Richardson dated 2-14-1944 it lists as survivors: (daughter) Mrs. Sula Haynes of Richmond CA. (daughter) Mrs E.O. Cord, Compton {I don't know if this is a name or the place she is from} 3 sons Garland B, Clarence Dewy, and Willie S. Richardson (sister) Mrs Tilitha Silver, Los Angeles, CA. (brother) J.B.Richardson , Los Angeles, CA. Got some great information from [email protected] on the Gedge surname connection. Learned who my great grandparents, gg grandparents, and ggg grandparents were on my dad's mother's side, through the Gedge line (My great grandmother was Charlotte Virginia Gedge, born in 1852 in Covington, KY. NOW, can anyone take me in the other direction?... i.e., Charlotte married Richard Richardson in 1869. Does anyone place HIM? He was of course my ggfather, but I don't know any of his ancestors. And, I only know of one child of Richard Richardson and Charlotte Gedge, my grandmother, Mabel/ Thanks, Richard [because of Richard Richardson] Tennesen, Capitola, CA
I am seeking information on Ralph R. Richardson born April 23, 1886 in Delaware County, Iowa. He was the son of Walter and Libbie Taylor Richardson. He was living in Earlville in 1900 and 1910 census records but I can't find him there in 1920. Also looking for information on Ernest and Effie (Richardson) DETTBARN who lived in Earlville in 1920. They had a son Laurence and a daughter Leona. Any information would be appreciated. Louise in Kansas
Looking to try to help you out - can you tell me his brothers' names? This would help me find him. There are about 14 or more Robt. RICHARDSONs in the 1880 census who are abt. the right age. Anything at all will help, even the names of his other children besides your father. I'll look for Delilah also. Do you think they were born in NC or MS or maybe AL? Dolores M. I would appreciate any information regarding the ancestry of Claribel Richardson whose mother was a Houston. Claribel married Elbert Cadora Abernethy and lived in Joplin, Missouri. They had four children: Byron, Helen Hope, Marian, Elizabeth. Claribel's father might have passed on around 1900 or so. Claribel probably passed on in the late 1940's and her husband in ca. 1937. He owned several lumbar yards which I believe had come through the Houston family.
Maybe some one can help me find these Richardson's. In the 1850 census of Greene County, AL they list a Martha Richardson b. NC 35 yoa Head Mason Richardson b. NC 20 yoa F Thos. Richardson b. AL 17 yoa M Student Singleton Richardson b. AL 13 yoa M Lucy J. Richardson b. AL 10 yoa F John Richardson b. AL 9 yoa M No husband is listed so I presume he is deceased. Singleton married Amanda Hales and died in the Civil War. Lucy J. married Berry Hales. I found Martha in the 1860 and 1870 census. The 1870 census list grand daughter Alice V. Hales 11 yoa. Could some one tell me where they moved to and the name of Martha's husband. Thank you, Virginia Sorry to have to reply but must not have the right address for the Richardson list. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 21, 2002 12:31 PM Subject: [RICHARDSON] Activity on list > > I am so excited about all these posts about Richardsons. I'm also very happy to see all the new post on the Richardson Mail List. Hopeful with this much activity I will get a clue to my Elusive Richardson Family: First I'd like to connect to anyone with RICHARDSON that migrated to Arkansas around the 1850's. My Pioneer G-G- grandfather came from GA. to AR. in about 1850. He may have came thru TN. as this is where my grandmother was born. Samuel (K?) Richardson b. 1806 GA. m. Elizabeth Jane (Harvey?) b. 1832 TN. Moved to Carroll CO. AR. ca.1850. d. in Carroll CO. AR. after 1880. I'd appreciate any info, Thanks and Good Luck to everyone with all this posting Let's hope some find their ancestors.... Margrett (Richardson) McCorkle
