I am looking for the family connections to John Richardson who was found on the 1830 Marion Co. GA census. He was listed as a first settler of Marion Co. GA. He died or did not appear on the 1850 census or after. On the 1830 census there was 2 girls listed on his census, names unkn. The children that appeared on the 1850 Marion Co. census was Mary b. 1831 GA, Mahala b. 1833 GA, and George W. b. 1836 GA. He was married to Elizabeth Catherine b. c. 1785-91 SC. Her mother was Scots and her father was German. Surname unkn. Eliz. died between 1880-90 in Marion Co. GA. I do not know IF John Richardson was in GA as a child with his family or he came to GA later as an adult. No records to consult at the courthouse in Marion Co. GA. I am not sure if he was b. in SC or elsewhere. I just assume until I can document. Any information about this Richardson would be graciously appreciated. Nora Searching for: PHELPS, WEST, CLARK, LEE (two lines), RICHARDSON, GRINER (GREINER), BRUNSON, MCLEOD, GREGORY, PALMER, HICKS, BROWN, CHAPPELL, SCOTT, ACTON, CROCKETT and more. All came to GEORGIA from NY, CT, VA, KY, NC, SC. Most stayed, but some went on to: FL, LA, TX.
Heads up folks ,,, the new W32.Klez virus is getting too smart for some people. It is now posing as a program for you to install (attached) and it will make your computer immune to this virus The SUBJECT: line will say ,,,, Worm Klez.E immunity DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ,,,,,,, you will be installing the virus itself. Anthea, I found a Thomas Richardson in the 1850 Johnston Co. NC Census page 2 Dwelling 32. He was living in Smithfield, NC at the time. He was a lawyer and was born in the West Indies. He was 28 and had a wife, Julia age 24 and one child, Anna I. age 4. I have not found any record on him or his family before or after 1850. This might be some of your relatives. I don't think is is related to me. William, I'm new to the list so if this has already been addressed I apologize. You mentioned a Clement Richardson born 1756 with a son named William Clement. Do you have a listing of Clement's other children? Does it include Joseph, Polly, Thomas, Samuel, Susan, Fanny, Malichi, and John (b. 1794)? The family I'm referring to is from the Indiana/Ohio border area. This doesn't connect with my family (so far), but I can direct anyone who wants to contact a descendant. I'd then contact the county records office directly. They may have supplemental information on record. After 1850 public records offices were required to keep such information. Secondly you might contact the church (if noted) where the marriage took place. The parents may be on a list of members or there may be baptismal information. A Death certificate may also provide such information. If the date is known you might be able to check the ssdi. for location. A local library might be able to find an obituary. She was born around 1888 and died around 1911-1913, don't know when or where for sure. She is possibly buried in Eloris/Elora/Lois TN some Cross Rd Cemetery (Lexis, TN) as you can tell I really don't know I am going by some notes I wrote about 30+ years ago when I didn't think much about this and my Grandmother was still alive. On the top of the certificate the state Tenn and county Franklin is handwritten. In the center of that it has XVI then Agriculture Commerce. At the bottom "Given at the Clerk's Office of said County this 24 day of Jan 1905." Signed by Geo. Maselley (?spelling?) County Court Clerk then on the last line is written/signed "By P.B. Kerth or Kirth (?or Kesth/Kisth?) There is nothing written in the Recored in Marriage Record_____ nor the Book or Page numbers. They were married by the Justice of the Peace T. E. Newling (at least that is what it looks like) Thank you for the information.
