    3. Missing Rich Brothers The widow of Marshall Howell Rich(son of Jacob Rich of Orange county NC & Franklin county TN), Louisa Jane was absent from the MS census of 1880. Also two sons were not listed. This puzzled us until a family member recently located her in Columbia county AR with two sons John Rich(b. Oct 15, 1864) and Jacob Rich(lllrd b. Dec 1, 1859). Louisa Jane Rich returned to north MS where she is buried(died Apr 26, 1894). Benjamin Brooks Rich(born 18 Mar 1854) is also missing. The sons John and Jacob possibly went to Texas. George W. Rich(b. Oct 10, 1873-another brother) is known to have moved to Columbia county AR. Just recently I've learned from the Jim Palmer family of TX that John located in Louisville, KY and became a doctor. This is logical because he had cousins in Illinois who were doctors and bankers(Union county). Jim's hard riuve crashed and he has not been able to send me more info yet. Two other brothers Henry C. Rich(b. Oct 11, 1867- twin of Hampton W.) and Joseph P.Rich(b. Sep 8, 1861) are buried in Nacogdoches, Texas. Still another brother, William Thomas Rich(b. Feb 14, 1866) had one son who died in Brookhaven, MS(name William-born 1886). William Thomas Rich is believed to have raised a family near Itta Bena MS. No information about the whereabouts of Robert A. Rich(b. Jan 28, 1863) and Samuel Rich(b. Jul 24, 1870) and Jacob Rich(born 1 dec 1859 MS-twin died) has been recovered. One of these is believed to have changed his first name. Also missing is their half sister named Rachel Rich. She was born a McAninch but later changed her name to Rich. She was last found in Chickasaw county MS in 1870. Any leads appreciated. Bobby Rich brich@panola.com
