The following may sound somewhat confusing, but I am looking for information on a Sidney Rich, born in Virginia 1787 or 1788, later lived in Kentucky and eventually settled in Hamilton County, Illinois. For several years, our family has been trying to find more information on Warren Rich Sr., who was believed to be my GGGGgrandfather. However, recently I came across the 1850 census of Hamilton County, Illinois, which noted that a Sidney Rich, male, age 62, and born in Virginia, lived with Warner Rich and his family in Hamilton County (our records show that his name is Warren, not Warner, though). The Warner/Warren noted in the census is the brother of my GGGgrandfather, Taylor Rich, who also lived in Hamilton County at that time. The age and birthplace of Sidney matches that which we had for Warren Sr. Does any of this make sense to anyone out there? Does anyone have information on a Sidney Rich born in Virginia in the late 1780s? His children include Patsy, Elizabeth, Susan, Lucinda, Louisa, Taylor, Washington, Jeremiah, and Warren.
