Dear Rich researchers, I am descended from John & Anne Rich of Newport Mon. John was born about 1756 and married Anne Lewis in 1793 at Bristol.I have traced many of their descendants who from the 1830`s migrated to Bridgend and Cardiff Glamorgan and Swindon Wilts in the 1860`s. I would love to find the baptism of John Rich who I believe may have come from Bristol, Somerset or nearby county. John was made a freeman of Newport in 1802 and also served on the jury. He was also made constable of the town for many years till his death in 1825. Johns` sons and son in laws were also made frewmen of the town. they were Edward & William Rich, George & John Collier, John Phillips and Thomas Leys{h}on. In 1911 a grandson of John a James Edward Rich of 79,Deburgh st Cardiff left over 50 properties in his will. Mike John of Newport Gwent
