Hello, Rich's! This is great! So many of us are resending family information that we''ve sent before on the chance that another list member will recognize something about it that "connects" with their line. And we all will get this list going again if we respond to each other even if we are not able to give real information. We can always give each other suggestions or maybe ask "Have you tried this?" or "could this perhaps be true?" In fact, this is how my wife Mary and I proceed in our own search. In lieu of having enough facts to definitely pinpoint data about a hard-to-get ancestor, we second-guess, based upon what we do know, sometimes about his/her brother or sister or other relative, and try to create a pattern: where they lived, why they moved, how much of the family went with them, etc. We jot down these "guesses" so that in going on a search trip, we have an outline or plan of action to follow when we get there. Lots of fun! I believe that Craig has an archive of family information sent in since the list began, but I may be wrong. In any case, a clearer line of action for each us might be to copy the email of anyone who is asking for help and respond to them directly (or through the list), so they know they have "been heard." I think others will also jump in with suggestions and, voila, the list will come alive again! Often in helping others you will find a common thread that is what you yourself need to do, but have not yet tried. Happy Labor Day! /fj Frank Rich Johnson (603) 898-5237 frichj@aol.com
