    1. Ritch in NC, GA, AL, TX (1790-1920)
    2. FWI
    3. OK, so there are others out there on this list. Later tonight I will post some of my Ritch material. Briefly though, I have quite a bit of Ritchie, Ritch, Rich material from Mecklenburg Co NC and surrounding areas from the late 1700's through about 1830. These Ritch's are closely allied with the Helms ancestors of the infamous Sen. Jessie Helms of NC. They are also closely related to the Cryes, etc. I research in the NC Archives and so have access to lots of Ritch material that does not relate to my direct line, but I stick pretty much to the pre 1840 material because my ancestors were in GA by then. My Ritch ancestors went to Muscogee Co GA around 1840, give or take a few years. With them went Helms, Cryes, etc. I have a family letter dating from 1890 from Hollins, AL to Columbus, GA. Also have tombstone inscriptions from one of the Ritch cemeteries in Muscogee Co GA. Also Census data, etc. Some of the Ritch descendants from this line pushed on into TX after the Civil War and before 1890. The 1890 letter speaks of them and also some of them came back to GA. My later post will detail names and dates but this gives you some idea of the Ritch lines that I am researching. As you know the Ritch name is also spelled Rich, even in official documents. 1. RICH MA mid 1800's
    2. kay
    3. hi, i'm here also. it has been quite a while since i asked so... i am looking for rich family members from the boston, mass., evertte mass. area. late 1800's early 1900's. i have only this: 3 brothers came to usa and landed in boston in the mid 1800's from germany. they all 3 married. 2 had children, one did not. one's name may be matthew or matteus. one married a sophie (mcintyre ?). one of the 3 brothers had 3 boys. one of the boys was named walter rich, born in everette in 1896. the 3 brothers and 2 of the wives died of a "plague" , epidemic that hit boston about 1900. the 3 boys were sent to a catholic orphanage in tres rivoires (sp?), three rivers in montreal. when they got out they all returned to the boston area and were carpenters, maybe installing wood flooring in triple deckers. not much to go on, i know... kay "This is my simple religion. There is no need for temple; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness." The Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatsa
