For Bob Reynolds, who asked about the availability of my supplemental index to S. F. Tillman's 1959 "Descendants of Christopher Reynolds": and for general info of others on the Reynolds list: -------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob wrote: I am a member of the rootsweb maillist for Reynolds. I just read the message you posted to Sherri in which you mentioned the supplement index you wrote for Tillman's book. I have his book and I would like to get a copy of your index. Can I get it direct from you or is Tuttle's the only place to order it. Thank You, Robert (Bob) Reynolds chevman@northstate.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- My reply to Bob: I created a supplemental index, but I'm not in a position to publish or even reproduce its 70+ pages. Contact: Tuttle Books 28 South Main Street Rutland VT 05701 802-773-8229 e-mail tuttbook@sovernet www.tuttlebooks.com shows Tillman's book as # 1248, 464 pages, which is the original book >without< my supplement. You'll have to contact Tuttle Books direct for the supplement. Price is probably around $8 - $10 plus shipping, as Tuttle's charges 10 cents a page for reproducing (that's just for my index, not for Tillman's book # 1248). I have no pecuniary interest in Tuttle's sale of my supplement. I get no royalties from it. My supplement helps you find Tillman's #### for descendants >WHO ARE CARRIED FORWARD AS HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD LATER IN THE BOOK. My index will not help find spouses or children not carried forward. First you have to learn how to use Tillman's index to find the head of household. Then use my supplemental index to find his/her descendants, one generation at a time. If everyone in Tillman's book were fully indexed, the index alone might run 500 pages. Too much for me to even think about attempting. The supplement alone took me almost a year to create and proofread. Please note that there are errors in Tillman's book, some of which I identified, and included corrections in my supplement. I hope this answers Bob's questions and that the supplement helps him and others. Marty Irons May all your ancestors YELL at you, telling you how and where to find them.
