I have marriage information for Thomas J Reynolds which gives the following: Thomas J. Reynolds 57 & Sarah Dunsmore 57, marr 8-20-1863, husb. Born, Cumberland Co. Va. wife born Monroe Co. Va. both had Previous marriages, husb f/m- Samuel & Lucy Reynolds, wife f/+ William Humphreys. I think the marriage took place in Monroe County WV. Other information I have gives Thomas a birth date between 1800 and 1810. He married Sally Honaker in 1825 in Monroe County Va. They stayed there for awhile and then moved to Nicholas County WV. Sarah died there in 1862. Thomas and Sarah Dunsmore lived in Craig County VA until 1865 when she died. After that Thomas drops out of sight. He died in 1884 and is buried in Summersville, Nicholas County with his first wife and some of their children. The 1810 Census for Cumberland County gives the following Reynolds: Reynolds John ? 2 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 0 5 12 Reynolds Obadiah 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 10 Reynolds Samuel 3 0 0 1 0 2 1 0 1 0 0 6 3 boys under 10 (1800-1809), 1 man 26-44 (1766-1784), 2 girls under 10 (1800-1809), 1 woman 16-25 (1785-1794), 1 woman 26-44 (1766-1784), 6 slaves I checked the 1820 census index and find only Obadiah and John still there. Thomas was said to have farmed in Buckingham County but I haven't found either him or Samuel there in 1820. In the 1830 census for Cumberland County I found: Lucy Reynolds - 1 Female 20-30 (1800-1810) and 1 Female 50-60 (1770-1780). Perhaps Samuel died between 1811 and 1820 and this is his widow. I was unable to find her in 1820 or in 1840. Perhaps she was living with her parents. I haven't been able to find a marriage record in the Ancestry databases. Thomas J. Reynolds is #1685 in Tillman's book. He has the correct spouse and children but not the correct parents it seems. This is the same Thomas that Judy in Washington is researching.
