The record of Nathaniel Reynolds is named in the minutes of the first town meeting held in Bristol, R.I. He served under Col. Bery Church in the Indian Wars. In the division of the town , he took a 1/32 tract of land . He died July 14, 1708. Upon a twenty acre lot of that tract his son Joseph built a house previous to the year 1700. This house and lot has descended from father to son , and the present owner , John Post Reynolds is the 6th in line from Joseph. This house was occupied by General Lafayette as his headquarters in 1778. Nathaniel's first wife was Sarah Dwight . His second wife was Pricilla Brockett. Their son was Joseph , born in 1676. Phoebe Leonard , born 1696. She was the daughter of Maj. George Leonard and Anna Tisdale and granddaughter of Thomas Rogers who came over on the Mayflower.
