Reynolds and Margaret Luke on the 15th of March 1858. Jay's mother died when he was only four years old. Jay stayed with his father for a couple of years but then was sent to live with Henry Baker and his family. Jay is listed in the 1870 US Census with the Baker family, living in Ionia Twp., Ionia Co., Michigan. I lose track of Jay after then until he appears in the 1900 US Census for Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota. He is single and is a "lawyer". On the 14th of August 1901, Jay marries Dixie Smith, a teacher. In 1908, Jay and Dixie are near Spokane, Washington where they have a daughter, Elizabeth (Betty), who is born on the 20th of March. By 1915, Jay and family are in Pasadena, California, where he continued to work as a lawyer. Jay died on the 26th of January 1935, in Los Angeles of carcinoma of the stomach. Dixie, his wife, had passed away before him, but do not know the d! ate. I believe, Jay and Dixie had more children than Betty, but do not know any names. I have a picture of Jay with four girls. The picture looks like a "Christmas" photo as Jay is dressed up to look like Santa and the girls all have "wings" on. I would love to be able to fill in the missing years and know more about his children and wife. If any one can help with any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Jay wrote a short biography about his father, George S. Reynolds, before he died and I would like to share it with any of his descendents.
