I am searching for Runnels in Johnson County,Texas. John Reynolds was on the tax list from 1877-1889 in Johnson Co. Texas He was NOT listed in 1874, 1875, or 1876, and I have not looked at the microfilm from 1890-1900. He was only listed as John Reynolds in 1879, 1882, and 1885. In the other years he was listed as John Runnells or Runnels. He was never listed with a middle initial. In 1881, the location of his property was given as Sabine Pass. The location was not listed in any other year. He had the same 2 acres of land from 1881 to 1889, valued progressively from $50 to $300. The land was originally owned by J. McFaddin. There were no other Reynolds or Runnells on the tax lists. Looks like he arrived in Texas around 1875. Maybe he was listed in the household of a Runnells in the 1870 census back in Alabama?
