The supplement alone took me almost a year to create and proofread. Please note that there are errors in Tillman's book, some of which I identified, and included corrections in my supplement. Sherrie: I didn't find what you seek, so I'll post my reply to the Reynolds list in hopes someone else will recognize the names McKINNON and DeMMORANVILLE. RE: "(nee Hall out of McKinnon out of Reynolds)" and "Mary Demoranville". The surnames McKINNON and DEMORANVILLE are not in S. F. Tillman's 1959 index. S. F. Tillman's 1959 "Descendants of Christopher Reynolds" had an index...but...it's very difficult to use. He did not number anyone except head of household. I don't know how he expected anyone to know that the children of #1 were #2, #1294 and #4162. My supplemental index corrects that. I think it's the wrong book for you. Without a better way to find McKinnon and Demoranville you'll spend hours or days checking out about 75 Isaacs, and you'll still probably not find your line. Tillman's book probably won't help you, but if you still want it, go to www.tuttlebooks.com (also ask for the supplemental index by Marty Irons...but since it's very new, you might have to call them to get my index) or www.higginsonbooks.com (they didn't want my index) Good luck. If you have older males from established Reynolds lines, encourage them to have their DNA tested. Amazing links can be forged in this way. We made a link between two branches of the Norton family that we hadn't been able to put together before because enough people joined. (Sellers and his Marion County history aside--there are relationships to be uncovered!) So comeon everyone! We have lots to gain! Also Female lines can be made, however, I haven't been lucky enough to make any connections except matches over 1000 years ago when few of us know who the men were--let alone the females. The interesting thing is that eventually we may be able to fit more of the pieces of our puzzles together. Since females change names every generation and sometimes several times--this matching is for the strong of heart! Especially people with well established trees should join the DNA groups--those Martha ? might become real names if enough of us join. It does cost money--but at least when you have a match--you KNOW THAT IT IS YOUR FAMILY and not some other family. It isn't a monthly fee. It is a onetime fee and you will be updated anytime someone matches your DNA. Knowing that we are all cousins is intersting--but figuring out how is better! Happy hunting to ALL of us. I have marriage information for Thomas J Reynolds which gives the following: Thomas J. Reynolds 57 & Sarah Dunsmore 57, marr 8-20-1863, husb. Born, Cumberland Co. Va. wife born Monroe Co. Va. both had Previous marriages, husb f/m- Samuel & Lucy Reynolds, wife f/+ William Humphreys. I think the marriage took place in Monroe County WV. Other information I have gives Thomas a birth date between 1800 and 1810. He married Sally Honaker in 1825 in Monroe County Va. They stayed there for awhile and then moved to Nicholas County WV. Sarah died there in 1862. Thomas and Sarah Dunsmore lived in Craig County VA until 1865 when she died. After that Thomas drops out of sight. He died in 1884 and is buried in Summersville, Nicholas County with his first wife and some of their children. The 1810 Census for Cumberland County gives the following Reynolds: Reynolds John ? 2 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 0 5 12 Reynolds Obadiah 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 10 Reynolds Samuel 3 0 0 1 0 2 1 0 1 0 0 6 3 boys under 10 (1800-1809), 1 man 26-44 (1766-1784), 2 girls under 10 (1800-1809), 1 woman 16-25 (1785-1794), 1 woman 26-44 (1766-1784), 6 slaves I checked the 1820 census index and find only Obadiah and John still there. Thomas was said to have farmed in Buckingham County but I haven't found either him or Samuel there in 1820. In the 1830 census for Cumberland County I found: Lucy Reynolds - 1 Female 20-30 (1800-1810) and 1 Female 50-60 (1770-1780). Perhaps Samuel died between 1811 and 1820 and this is his widow. I was unable to find her in 1820 or in 1840. Perhaps she was living with her parents. I haven't been able to find a marriage record in the Ancestry databases. Thomas J. Reynolds is #1685 in Tillman's book. He has the correct spouse and children but not the correct parents it seems. This is the same Thomas that Judy in Washington is researching. Hello Roy, There are several Allens in my S.F. Tillman book "Christopher Reynolds and his Descendants". One in particular is said to be the son of Gillam Reynolds b. 1807. No birth date or marriage is given for Allen, so I don't know if it is yours or not. However, With a son named John Francis, we could suppose that he is descended from the John Francis Reynolds b. 1710 in VA. This is my line. John Francis the 2nd was born in NC about 1732. His brother, Elisha, b. 1755 in Wilkes County is my direct ancestor. Elisha had a son , Bowen, who went to Mississippi and was a missionary to the Indians there, so it would not be surprising to find relatives of his there as well, although Bowen died in Carrollton, MS in 1845. All this is supposition, because I have not found any Allens in my line, but perhaps it gives you some clues. Mary Job b abt 1777 in Lewistown, Mufflin Cty, Penn d ???? Children John Purdy Mary.J. Benjamin.B. all born in Mufflin Cty, Penn John Purdy graduated from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, Penn., in 1827. Practice medicine in Penn, in 1835 he went to Texas. Joined the Volunteer Auxiliary Cop of Texas in 1/14/1836. He was send to San Antonio de Bexar, became a member of Capt. William Harrison's Company. It is unsure whether he was a Doctor at the Alamo. He died at the Alamo one day before his 30th birthday.

James B. Reynolds of Glocester, RI, married Caroline WINSOR in Killingly, Ct. on November 15, 1840. We have been looking for her family for ages. Caroline is the daughter of Obadiah Winsor, b. 1783, and living next to James and Caroline Reynolds in 1850 in Glocester Twp. Providence, RI. Obadiah's mothers' name was Roby Keech, where we of that line got 'Roby' in our lexicon. James and Caroline Reynolds were in Logan Co. Illinois in the 1860 census, and Obadiah Winsor and his wife, Mary (King) are again on the same census page.

John Samuel Reynolds and Elizabeth Kelly/Kelley are my brick walls. They are named as the parents of my gggrandmother, Delia Reynolds, on her marriage license in Charlestown, Jefferson, VA/WV in 1872 when she married Robert Wooddy. I can find no mention of her parents anywhere - marriages, deaths, census etc. The only thing I have found close to them is the fact that their daughter, Delia, my gggrandmother, bn about 1848, was married first to a Daily/Dailey. Found them on the 1870 census in Grant Twp, Jefferson Co, WV. Right above them is a Sheetz family(?) - Samuel Sheetz, 91, bn PA, blind with the following entries: Elizabeth, 44, bn WV; Washington H 18, bn WV Price 15, bn WV Joseph F 11, bn WV Samuel W 7, bn WV. Question - Was this Elizabeth the mother of Adelia?; was she married to Samuel Sheetz? : were the children listed really 'Reynolds'? The names Washington, Price and Joseph all match her brothers except for Samuel. Joseph later married an Emily J (?) and lived in Winchester, VA (found him on the 1920 census) and had one son, Joseph R who lived in Washington DC at one time and there were three daughters, Emily, Estelle and Catherine. John Washington married a Sarah (Sally) and was living in Masontown, PA in 1940. I would think the family was a figment of my imagination except for the fact that Delia lived to be 92 and two of her brothers attended her funeral. I have her Memorial book. Any help/suggestions would be gratefully accepted. Pat Dailey

Virginia,( son of William Reynolds, son of Thomas) married Barbara Arnold and settled in Abbeville, SC. Benjamin and Barbara had several children including: Richard 1780 William 1783 John V. 1790 Robert 1796 Caswell (died young) Bennett 1804 Larkin 1807 Benjamin Washington 1812 Tillman questions whether there were any daughters. Son John V. married Prudence Lawson and settled in Abbeville, SC John V. and Prudence had several children: Benjamin 1828 Susan 1834 John Mahala 1839 Larkin 1841 James C. 1843 Nancy A.R. 1846 There is more but you might want to check out the Tillman book. It is commonly known that Tillman's book is full of errors, but nevertheless it gives you some avenues to research. Good luck. Hi, my name is DeDe Meek and I am currently researching my grandfather's side of the family. His name was Frank Stafford Reynolds, b. 14 Dec 1898 - Village of Canandaigua, Ontario County, NY, d. 11 May 1986- Tucson, Pima County, AZ. His father was Ralph N. Reynolds, b. 10 Mar 1872, d. 2 Dec 1949. He was married to Auguste Caroline Christianne Schmidt of Preetz, Germany. Ralph's father according to what I could get from who is left on that side of the family was Gilbert Reynolds, b. ?, d. ?. He was married to Mary ??. According to comments from a family bible, he came from England and settled in Philadephia, Pennsylvania, then lived in Pierington, New York, then moved to Canandaigua, New York. Oral tradition talked about him being in Rochester, NY and I found an 1860 Census with a Gilbert Reynolds, wife Mary and son Stanley in Rochester, but I'm not sure if this is the correct person.
