    1. Angevine Reynolds (1829-1888) Mariposa Co, CA
    2. BOB DUBEL
    3. Angevine Reynolds (1829-1888) was editor of the Mariposa Gazette newspaper from 1875-1888. His daughter Loretta Reynolds (1862-1924) married Freeland H. Woodard/Woodward (ca1862-post 1893), and in 1893 he obtained a land patent and lived in a mountain cabin in Mariposa Co near the present town of Fish Camp near the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. In 1912 the site of the cabin became the site of Cedarbrook Inn on the original stage route into Wawona in Yosemite. I am seeking any descendants and/or information about Cedarbrook Inn. Thanks. 2. Dear Reynolds Cousins...Haven't checked this out yet, however, I received the below link from the Salmans-L@rootsweb.com list serve which I figured somehow has to be also related to some of us who have a Reynolds background....anyway, I'm forwarding it to you all and I'm also including a direct link A Civil War Soldier in the Wild Cat Regiment (or in case the direct link messes up you can gind this at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/tcrhtml/ as noted below....hop this is helpful to someone out there. Sharen Durler Pflughoeft (Paternal Grandmother - Marguerite Cecilia Reynolds, Born 5/26/1896 Leavenworth, KS, Died 12/11/1952, Larned, KS...Married John Jacob Durler Sr 6/30/1920 Fort Leavenworth, KS....Marguerite's Parents were James Reynolds (Irish Army Officer who came over to America...not much else on him) and Mary Elizabeth Gilman Reynolds (born approx 1864 Leavenworth, KS, died 9/8/1941, Leavenworth, KS) In a message dated 4/13/2004 6:23:51 PM Central Daylight Time, TO SALMANS-L@rootsweb.com: LIBRARY OF CONGRESS Public Affairs Office 101 Independence Avenue SE Washington DC 20540-1610 Phone (202) 707-2905 Fax (202) 707-9199 E-mail pao@loc.gov April 12, 2004 Contact: Guy Lamolinara (202) 707-9217, glam@loc.gov EXPERIENCES OF CIVIL WAR SOLDIER DOCUMENTED IN NEW ONLINE PRESENTATION An extraordinary look into the lives of a Union soldier and his family is now available online in “A Civil War Soldier in the Wild Cat Regiment.” The new presentation can be accessed from the American Memory Web site of the Library of Congress at http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/tcrhtml/. This presentation documents the Civil War experience of Captain Tilton C. Reynolds, a member of the 105th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, also known as the Wild Cat Regiment. The correspondence, photographs and other materials from the Tilton C. Reynolds Papers span the years of the Civil War (1861-1865). Transcriptions of 46 of the most significant letters are also available. This online collection offers a unique perspective on the lives of a Union soldier and his family. The selected letters lend insight into the wartime dynamics of the Reynolds family, and their words reveal how family members in Reynolds’ regiment looked after him, announced his capture and gave advice. The letters also describe the daily life of a Union soldier, touching on such topics as food, clothing, shelter, health and punishment. Soldiers’ feelings, views on slavery and the election of 1864, as well as Reynolds’ account of seeing President and Mrs. Lincoln can all be found in this collection. “A Civil War Soldier in the Wild Cat Regiment” also features two Special Presentations: “Timeline: History of the 105th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-1865” and another on the Reynolds family. American Memory is a project of the Library of Congress. Its more than 120 collections, which range from the papers of U.S. presidents, Civil War photographs and early films of Thomas Edison to papers documenting the women’s suffrage and civil rights movements, Jazz Age photographs and the first baseball cards, include more than 8.5 million items from the Library of Congress and other major repositories. The latest Web site from the Library is the monthly Wise Guide (www.loc.gov/wiseguide), which demonstrates that “It’s Fun to Know History.” # # # PR 04-70 04/12/04 ISSN 0731-3527

    3. I am researching these Reynolds in St. Clair 1860 census Meleijah Runnel 43 NC Eliasabeth 42 Christopher 20 All children born in Alabama Tibitha 18 James 16 John 14 Dolphus 10 Thomas 8 Mary 5 David 2 In the land records for St. Clair are for Micajah T and James B In this same census is a Sarah 63 Nc. I have found marriage records for Joshua Runnels and Sarah James Warren county Georgia 17 Oct 1798. I believe to be this Sarah. I have ties to Walker Reynolds and Espy Gibson of Warren County Georgia. I have marriage records for Micajah Reynolds born 11 Aug 1811 married Ann Eliza C. Turpin,Oct 13,1386 in Bradford,Va, her parents Thomas Turpin and Mary Polina Clayton Marriage records for some of the children of Micajah and Elizabeth. Married in St Clair Co:Christopher married Nancy L. Clayton on 29-Aug-1861 & James B. married Mollie Thorough on 6-Apr-1861 . Married in Talladega Co: Adoulphus Reynolds to Lucinda Youngblood. on 1-Oct-1874. I cannot find marriage records on the girls yet. In the 1870 Lawrence county Al census , Elizabeth Reynolds shows up as head of household in Lawrence Co, AL in 1870. She has a woman name Caroline age 35 living with her. Under Caroline is listed Crocket Reynolds age 9 and Rufus Reynolds age 6. I think the Caroline is the widowed wife of one of Elizabeth's sons, probably James B. Elizabeth's sons Christopher (C.A. on census) and Adoulphus are also near her. She is on page 126B dwelling # 284 and the son Adolphus is at dwelling # 280. C.A. is on page # 123. CA and wife Nancy S. probably never had children and in 1870 Adolfus had none. C.A. Reynolds is listed on the 1895 Taxpayers Census in Lawrence Co. Says he is in Beat 2 1/2 , Jonesboro. C.A. Reynolds is in the newspaper" The Courtland Enterprise 1896: Friday Feb 21,1896, C.A. Reynolds, living near Town Creek, died yesterday of pneumonia. Me Reynolds was Postmaster at Town Creek during the Harrison administration and made a very efficient officer. I think the James on the 1860 St.Clair is James B. I have the service record on him as being in Comp. D Alabama Inf. He mustered in at St. Clair Co and was a prisoner at Alton Military Prison. Christopher A. mustered in at Ashville AL into Company L 18th Al Infantry. Thank you for any help on these lines. Debbie Reynolds House

    1. [Reynolds] Reynolds in Ireland
    2. sunsethillce
    3. I just found out my Reynolds were from Ireland yesterday. I've been in this family for 45 years and just found this out. Hooray. Now I'd like to know if there are any Reynolds out there from Cavan Co. Ireland. My John was born there in1823 and came to Canada at some time before his marriage to Mary Anne Burke/Bourke in July 24, 1850 at Beachburg. Wherever that is. Mary Ann was from Wicklow, Shillelagh, Ireland. I may have that backwards. She was born 1818. Her parents were Thomas Burke and Sarah Holmes. She came to Canada in the spring of 1842 with her sister Esther and other Burke relatives. They left the group at Prescot( again I don't know where that is) and Mary Ann went to live in Caladonia Springs, near Prescot. Then to Westmeath to help her cousin Sarah Cross (Mrs. Edward Bromley). I am not familiar with any of these places, but plan on locating them today. Anyone with any info? Thanks, Margaret
