    2. Deloris Clark Genealogy
    3. Hello List Members, I am new to the list and searching for my Reynolds ancestors from OH. Marriage Records, Perry County, Book 1, Page 229: 24 Sept 1837. Clark, Rosanah to Reynolds, Joshua by James Clarkson Rosanah "Rose Ann" Clark was the sister of my great grandfather, Isaac Jackson Clark. On the 1830 census: One of these would more than likely be the father of Joshua. Reynolds, Jonathan Bristol, (Pike) Perry, OH 1830 Reynolds, Ebenezer Pike, Perry, OH 1830 Bristol, Perry, OH is where my ancestors first settled in Perry County, OH in 1829 from PA On the 1840 census: Johnathan Reynolds Pike, Perry, OH 1840 Reason Reynolds Pike, Perry, OH 1840 I have not been able to find Joshua Reynolds but I did find Rosan on the 1850 census. 1850 census: Rosan Reynolds 45 1804 Pennsylvania Female Pike, Perry, OH John F Reynolds 11 1838 Ohio Male Pike, Perry, OH Harriet Reynolds 10 1839 Ohio Female Pike, Perry, OH Henry M Reynolds 1 1848 Ohio Male Pike, Perry, OH I can not find them on the 1860 census. However, in 1870 it appears that Rose Ann is living with her married daughter but it's hard to tell since the relationship is not indicated on the 1870 census - Lancaster, Fairfield, OH McGraw Thomas 34 born in PA, McGraw Mary 28 OH, Reynolds, James 10 OH, Reynolds, Roase Ann 65 PA and, next household: McGraw, John 28 PA McGraw, Elizabeth 25 NY According to my 95 year old cousin, Rose Ann Clark Reynolds died in 1883. My cousin has since passed so I can't check with her. I would really love to connect with someone who is researching this family. Deloris Bringardner Girard

    2. Carolyn
    3. Does anyone have any Reynolds people who migrated from the eastern side of Kent England to anywhere in the US in the 1700s and 1800s? There is a fairly large Reynolds family who spread out around Leeds, Preston, Eastry, Deal etc., and quite a few of the menfolk were in the Royal Navy. One person of interest is John Reynolds who became the first Royal governor of Georgia.... http://www.georgiaencyclopedia.org/nge/Article.jsp?path=/HistoryArchaeology/ColonialEraTrusteePeriod/Topics-4&id=h-818 would love to hear from anyone with interests in any of the above Carolyn

Would love to hear from you if you are connected to either of these men. Thanks, Billie

I'm in the NW corner of PA. My family (Elijah Reynolds) on my father's side probably came from England but lived in Port Deposit, Maryland. About 12 Reynolds' are buried in the cemetery there. There is another family of Reynolds there at the same time - I don't know if there is any relation between the two families. One of Elijah's sons married an App whose family donated the land on which Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania was built. See below. I have some photos of paintings of Elijah and Eliza I can scan and post when I have time. The paintings were lost and I'd love to have them back or see that they are in the hands of other descendants. I can post a list of my family births and deaths when I can find everything. (I may be moving in a few weeks so everything is packed in anticipation.) I'd sure like to find some family; my only living relative is my father. Reynolds is my maiden name, I've never changed it. Here's what I have: Elijah Reynolds, b. Sept. 5, 1796, d. Mar. 1869 married Eliza Edmonson Reynolds b. Jan. 9, 1800, d. May 30, 1879 I'm a descendent of their son: William Wesley Reynolds, who married Catherine App, Selinsgrove PA (Susquehanna U.): Their son John Louis Reynolds married Florence Helene Koller in Jersey City, New Jersey, 1906 and had my father, Wesley Louis Reynolds 2-10-1920. I am Wesley's only child: Andrea Reynolds (b. 1949) I would love to find more in this line. Andrea Reynolds -- http://www.CrisisBrainstorm.com http://www.AndreaReynolds.com

    3. Gosh, methinks that this may be a good place to mention one of my very favorite sites . . . I have never, in the past, thought this site to be helpful to those abroad; but, because you listed the abbreviations for all the states, it jogged my mind - it could be an invaluable tool for you . . . I know it helps me immensely!! It is my favorite online telephone white pages . . . and for those of you outside the US, the white pages are residential phone numbers; yellow pages are business listings which may include a display ad. The site is www.switchboard.com and you can search for just a surname and use/not use a state, you may search by phone number, you can find out from these searches the concentration of a surname in any one state. I cannot tell you of all the blind phone calls I have made from gathering those numbers, that I've found the person I needed!! Just last week I found the person for whom many baby pictures, his parents, his grandparents are in our possession. . . he is a distant cousin and these pictures were found in the possessions of our grandmother. What a delight to speak with him on the phone and be able to fill some of the gaping holes in my information as well as find out that he is interested in learning more about US!! so the pictures were not only emailed to him, but the originals are in the mail to him as well. Check out that phone book . . . 3. I presume these are states in USA....... I can work out the first one as Virginia but can only guess at the others. Please remember this list reaches Reynolds researchers worldwide and not just in USA so a little more explanation with place names would help a lot. For example, I have lived in VIC,WA, NSW and QLD...........which are the Australian states Victoria, Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. Unless you know Australian geography, then VIC WA NSW and QLD are just as meaningless to you, as KY/ IN/ VA/ NC is to me. cheers Carolyn > looking for info on Reynolds/ Hillenburg (spelling differed)/ > Conner/Stewart/Crusenberry-Christenberry. . . . . . families mostly from KY/ IN/ VA/ NC > > > Brook Rose > >

    3. IDesperately trying to find links with my REYNOLDS connections. In my REYNOLDS tree, there were a few given the middle name of MORRISON. For example, my father was named Geoffrey Morrison Reynolds. This middle name was also given to girls in the family. I have Australian connections as my grandfather was born there. As I have searched high and low for nearly 5 years and found no-one related to me, I hit on the idea of mentioning this middle name. Warm wishes Angela

    1. Re: [Reynolds] DNA projects: Cheryl: Missouri
    2. James Reynolds Hull
    3. Cheryl, Currently Family Tree DNA FTDNA has 13 geographical projects in place. These are for specific family groups or family associations. The Reynolds surname does not to my knowledge have a specific project in place for a specific geographical area. However, each Reynolds participant who has a paper trail of his ancestors, in reality provides geographical clues of his ancestors. From what I understand from the recent post at RootsWeb [which by the way I have responded to], this is a suggestion for those who have DNA tested or are contemplating the same to participate in a project to identify their family ancestors who may have lived in specific cities associated with the project. The Chelsea, MA project as indicated from the information given at FTDNA is: "We will cover any name found in the three towns. But the idea is that you have records of someone from the towns." http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Chelsea.Revere.Winthrop.Ma/ In other words, this is a generalized gathering of all surnames that may have been associated with three certain towns in MA. FTDNA has : "Over 1,100 SURNAME PROJECTS, Over 8,000 unique surnames, over 24,000 records in the database, over 9,000 distinct 12-marker haplotypes, and over 7,000 distinct 25-marker haplotypes." This is a good start in identifying surnames and to begin the process of learning more about each through DNA testing. The Chelsea Project is a program to expand the basics of DNA testing. I presume that in time, more persons interested in expanding genetic genealogy to their family history research will begin geographical projects to provide more clues and to pinpoint specific geographical regions where there ancestors may have resided. IMHO, this will be based on paper trails of some fashion, as well as specific DNA testing. Overall, geographical DNA projects are a means of providing clues to one's family roots. I wholeheartedly support such projects for genetic genealogy. Cheryl, if you have your cousin tested, then you could start a geographical project, perhaps, of the places your ancestors resided in Missouri, or elsewhere. As more Reynolds do the basic tests, then geographical projects will become a possibility and eventually provide a warehouse of ancestral clues.
