My family's brick wall is my Gr. Gr Grandfather Henry Clay Reynolds. He was born 20 Oct 1847 in Mo. He married Lottie Muzetta Joiner 7 Oct 1890 in Mariposa,Calavaras Co, California. He died 22 Jan 1954 in Carlin Nevada. We have found some entries that suggest he was the son of William Bedford Reynolds and Susan Patience Kelly, but have not found any solid documentation to prove or disprove that so far. Hopefully someone has him listed as a member of their family tree.

The following Reynolds are my brick walls. I can find no record other than Delia Ann's marriage license in Charles Town, WV of John and Elizabeth Reynolds. Something must have happened to John between 1863 and 1869 because Elizabeth Reynolds was married to Samuel Sheetz in 1869. Samuel Sheetz was about 46 years older than Elizabeth and when listed on the 1870 Census for Grant Twp, Jefferson Co, WV all the children were given the last name of Sheetz. John may have served in the Civil War, but I haven't gone through all the John Reynolds yet and where I have looked hasn't given me any info regarding family. I haven't any record of Elizabeth after 1870. On that same census, daughter Delia Ann is married to a John Daily. Delia Ann married Robert W Wooddy and lived in Fayette Co, PA . John Washington married Sarah LNU and lived in Fayette Co, PA. Joseph F married Emily LNU and lived in Stonewall Dist, Frederick Co, VA. I have nothing on Price and Samuel though Price was supposed to have stayed in the Shenandoah Valley area. My grandmother's bible said her grandparents were Jimmy and Melissa Reynolds who lived in Stewart County, TN. There is a census in Stewart that lists both James and Melissa as brother and sister. We have not located James on Census with his children, however Melissa Reynolds is listed with three of her children. My great grandmother's name was Lizzie Reynolds. I think they lived for a time in Campbell County , falling river district. So i'm guessing that Lizzie's parents also lived in or near that county. My Reynolds ancestors (the earliest well-documented ones) came from Wilkes County,North Carolina. This was Elisha Reynolds, b. there in 1755. His father was probably a John Francis Reynolds b. 1710 in Virginia, and I would like to get more solid evidence of that. Elisha's son, Ivy Reynolds, b. 1793 migrated to Johnson County, Illinois about 1817. That line has been in Southern Illinois ever since.
